Still QFS MX green with Nuclear Data Green in a marginally different layout.

83800-0

This is not likely to change in the foreseeable future, until Rad Hard keys arrive and some are strategically deployed, or I manage to get an SSK or a TKL RealForce keyboard.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Apple's scissor switch keyboards are pretty good, with the exception of the rMBP keys which are the worst keyboard I've ever typed on.  :'(

I love scissor switches - just nobody makes a good compact one in a nice format.  I've been eyeing that K7 but once you go small you never go back.

Back to my old trusty Noppoo Choc mini while I wait for my new one to arrive in the mail, let's hope this new one lasts longer than 6 months. *crosses fingers*

Apparently though the new model, which has white instead of the old colours on the functions, it's supposed to be much better, so who knows.

Well, not everything. I was hoping to use a TEX case on mine, but the top plate has threaded standoffs pressed into it instead of screw holes. To make any third party case work I would have to take a drill & tap to the case...

I am absolutely loving my Nuclear SA caps on my WASD. The stock ABS caps felt so tinny and the spacebar especially felt awful.

Thanks to Samwisekoi again for this awesome GB.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Black ones are from 87ub 55gr, I just switch the keys without touching plungers.
First plan was to switch them all, but there was, well issues with keys compatibility

Simple enough to answer.  I have 3 other IBM 101 keyboards I use.  The feeling of the 103 is exactly the same as the 101 key.  No fumbling on the spacebar anymore.  It just feels like the other ones.  I can't explain it any better than that.  If you have one, you know already!  Do a direct comparison!

Due my laziness and lack of cigars, I only accomplished switching keycaps between 87u and Leo fc660c.
My plan was to exchange all of them to get this stealthy look-like,
but some keys like shift, fn etc. didn't work out, so I end up with this "two-tone" mix.

I am also using a V60 now and I agree that the key caps scream for replacement. I already scraped the side of some key caps when I tried to remove them (mostly my fault); the black paint is still on but the clear coat on them got damaged because is not very durable and I expect them to wear off really quick if you are a heavy user. The thickness is pretty thin too.

Can We See Your Keyboard?
« Reply #2236 on: Sat, 20 December 2014, 23:14:17 »
I noticed that there wasn't a thread about this, so I thought it'd be cool.

Can we have pics of your keyboard?

Also, if there was one and I just overlooked it, could someone tell me?

Here's mine:

My trusty eight year old Dell L100, this my main keyboard:

And the Logitech K120 that my school made me like:

I occasionally rotate them out, but I can't decide which one I like more. The L100 definitely has more character to it, though. And more sentimental value. And the keys are more clacky.

So, can we see your keyboard/s/?

Still QFS MX green with Nuclear Data Green in a marginally different layout.

(Attachment Link)

This is not likely to change in the foreseeable future, until Rad Hard keys arrive and some are strategically deployed, or I manage to get an SSK or a TKL RealForce keyboard.

What a cracking board. Love it!

I'm using a Logitech G11, I ordered my first mechanical keyboard yesterday. Ducky Shine 3 TKL white LED cherry MX brown. Can't wait for it to arrive, I just hope that I will like it as I never used a mechanical keyboard before.

Edit: Just got to work, at work I'm using a Solidtek Ack-700u.

Don't worry, you'll love it :) MX browns are very likeable for most of the population, I think. Solid choice!

As for me, right now I'm using my Shine 3 with blues. I love the magenta but it's hard to capture the lighting when it's light out + crappy camera. :(

I was kinda annoyed at first that I was not able to get the blue LED to match with the rest of my stuff. But the more I think about it and the more I wait the more excited and can't wait to see my Shine with white LED.   :)

Yeah, I was in the same boat - my mouse has blue lights, my mousepad has a green graphic, and now my keyboard has magenta LEDs :P it bugged me at first but I've gotten used to it.

White LEDs are nice in that they have the most flexibility in terms of LED covers - if you put them on white lights, they will look the best (as opposed to, say, putting a yellow cover over a green led, etc).

For now I'm using my KBP v60 w/ Clears at work and at home, but with my Realforce 87u 55g coming in I'll probably keep the KPB at work most of the time...

Then that begs the question of what to do with my Poker II when it comes in... Not more than a month or so into the hobby and I'm already wondering what to do with all these boards.

HHKB Pro 2

Only board I've been using for the last couple months.  Took the leap with Topre and I'm glad that I did.  My HHKB is by far my favorite board, now.

Hardly anyone seems to get a HHKB and not like it. It tells me I need it, too.

I want to try for the Type-S, but i wonder what feels better.

Looked at the Type-S, but I couldn't justify that price tag.  I may end up trying the dental band mod on my HHKB.
