A 2006 Unicomp Ultra Classic Model M (black with uniform gray keys), p/n UB40P4A. It's just as solid as a Lexmark M.

Could you please explain the logic behind that kind of switch placement? Interested how it feels and why that placement and no other.

Got the idea from the variable weight realforce.
On this one: mx grey for the strongest fingers (index and middle), gat yellow for ringfinger and gat red for pinky.
And modifiers heavy ofc.

The logic being that the weaker fingers have less force to push a key to counter rsi. Since I like heavy linear I too those for the fingers who can definitely cope with it...

I made the whole board hot-swappable with Holtites so I can easily change layout or switches as I please

Found it on the internet for 14 euro shipped. A bit disappointed, because I assumed this was clicky but it's tactile instead.

Custom controller from hasu, the sliders and caps from BunnyLake by Matt3o.

SA and HHBK are an amazing combination, there was a little clack from the excessive freedom of movement in the stabilised keys but after placing some thin strips of ethylene-vinyl acetate foam down on the base plate. The extra resonance in this frankenstein sounds like the most beautiful rainstorm you have ever heard.

currently using FILCO ninja TKL red cherry switch at work, and POK3R RGB blue cherry switch at home. Fell in love with 60% and I'm considering of replacing my TKL.

just ordered sabre 68 from originative co, but weirdly enough, I can't find any topic about it here. or did I search the wrong topic? is it any good? I've read about TADA 68 as well, are they the same?

next is trying 40%. either minivan, or vortex core. leaning towards minivan though, because the arrows keys line up nicely (yes, i'm picky in that way lol)

- KUL-ES87 w/MX Clears and Varmillo Light Gray PBT Dyesub caps at home.
- Pok3r non backlit with MX Clears and DSA Dolch/Alt for travel board
- RF87U 55g black incoming from recent drop.  Not sure if I'll have to swap keys (or even where to get them now) due to my **** eyes.

Spares
- Varmilo VA87M w/Gateron Browns and PMK Granite-esque DSA PBT Dyesubs.  Will either gift or sell this board as I dont like the Gateron Browns.
- HHKB Pro 2.  Best feeling board I have ever used but I prefer the Pok3r layout after programming.

Using the Velocifire TKL-01 Right now as I will be doing a review on it soon, been covering a lot of budget boards over the last year or so as it's a great entry level way for people to get into the hobby.  Gotta say thus far for the $29.99 asking price i'm fairly impressed putting it into pricing perspective.

It STILL feels and looks better than a Razer keyboard does :p

Thanks for the well wishes and compliment.  Bastages at PMK sent me an email a couple of weeks ago letting me know DSA Dolch was back in stock, and I love the richness of it.  Even know I really dont like DSA, it's workable on the Pok3r.

(now if they could only figure out how to make a decent looking PBT version of DSA Dolch.  Yeah I know...)

Trying different keycap sets on this Velocifire, really liking the BSP White set with the Teal Lighting thus far.  Plus the Cherry profile improves the feel of the Zorro Brown Switches ten fold.

Those are a set of IMSTO PBT caps he used to make a few years ago (Not BSP).
I think he used Vortex caps? And for some reason the full touch Caps Lock couldn't be made in the correct color, but the stepped Caps was done in the correct color?

They are nice feeling caps tho.

You certain?  The person I got them from had sent me a picture with the original Keycap outline and holder, and he still sells BSP ones on his website that look fairly similar.

I admit however I am not 100% sure and defer to others expertise as my knowledge of higher priced sets is fairly minimal, the only set I ever bought myself was Midnight from PMK.  Seeing as how I got them in a trade i'm not sure either way But I definitely like them either way.  The texture definitely doesn't feel close to anything I have in Vortex however.

I just unboxed a Ducky One TKL RGB with blacks. No point in posting a photo since ATM it looks like any photo or video on the net. My only other Ducky is a G2 Pro I bought several years ago and I'm impressed with the evolution from the G2 Pro to the Premier and now the One. The bottom design is very nice with the two-step flip out feet and the angle with the feet retracted is ideal for me. The construction is very solid and it has a surprising amount of weight. Very pleased.

I bought the board I'm using right now in July but haven't really used it until now. Yesterday I added a Hasu to my HHKB Pro 1 and programmed it to be dvorak with the macros I frequently use  :)

The old 45g domes felt a bit light at the start but I'm getting used to the weight and for sure prefer them to the 45g Pro 2s I've used.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

Nowadays I am using a Logitech G810 mechanical RGB keyboard which is modded by me. I built a case for the keyboard in order to add extra thumb buttons using PVC panels, Cherry MX switches and computer 20pin ribbon data cables. It's primarily a gaming mod and it seems I will go on using it this way for a long time.

More details and pictures about the mod is here: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=88994.0

At the moment I am using the "Team Wolf Zhuque CIY" hot swappable keyboard with 68g ergo-clears and some o-rings. It's a pretty ugly board but I am planning to get some thick Cherry PBT keycaps soon.

The hot-swappable feature works pretty well even though I don't have the proper tools to remove the switches (I bought it open box). Non SMD compatible switches seem a tiny bit loose though. I think I might get some smd Gateron housings from someone soon to mend this and also enhance the switches.

Currently still rocking my CM Storm Quickfire TK (MX-Blues with o-ring modifiers). I've debated on trying something else and possibly another switch, do like the feel of the MX-Silvers (Corsair MX-Speed) but it can be improved. Just hard to invest in another switch style after using my current for the past 4-5yrs.

Thanks! I'm very happy with it. The HHKB and the CST track ball work like a charm. The Jelly Comb numpad is a rather cheap affair and the MX Blue clones inside are pretty noise but because it is compatible with MacOS and I don't use it that often (mainly to input JIRA ticket numbers) it can stay.

You know setup blue, doom red. I have an idea.. now that we have RGB lighting everything everywhere.

You now these Philips TV's that change lighting according to what color is predominantly on the screen on average?

Why not change the lighting of your case automatically based on what color on average is most on your screen? So now your case would change to red.

That would be SO FRIGGIN AMAZING.

Thanks!

To answer your question: I don't notice any problems at all. But the amount of data emitted by the numpad and the trackball is imho negligible compared to, say, a hard drive.

Britney, didn't like your music but seeing that you're a woman with good taste in keyboards has definitely changed my mind about your work.

Thanks. The songs I've recorded which express my love for HHKBs have been sadly rejected by my record label in the past. They claim it might alienate my audience.  ;)

Hopefully someday you get the freedom to release those HHKB hits for us all to hear then. :)

Got an anodized aluminum case in for my POK3R. I like it a lot. Besides adding a little extra weight it and looking better it seems to have made the keyboard a little quieter. Can't really complain about that. I like the new sound!

I have to ask, the Pok3r comes stock with an aluminum case, why replace it?

Using the Adesso 625 TKL W/ Kailh Blues at moment in preparation for an upcoming review.

Early spoilers: For 50-55$ US thus far I am not overly impressed.

It's a much better case that also sits flat. Great for DSAs. The POK3R cases are lighter and painted. It's a pretty 'big' upgrade, actually. I'm surprised.
