I've seen others simplify down that thought into (paraphrasing) responsibility is only given to those who can reciprocate. I've given it a lot of thought because it can be used to justify criminality as well as good deeds. I grew up knowing a rough kid, very sociopathic. eventually we had to part ways because no matter what i did i was always going to be a target. he justified it to me one day by saying his mom said we were wealthy. we were middle class. the working middle class are what keep any country running though, without them the end approaches swiftly.
