Peanut Butter [Conspiracy thread]

They make this stuff difficult to spread - ON PURPOSE -   So that people put more of in their sandwiches..

If it was easily spreadable,  You'd use a thin layer, and eat far less of it....

Not all peanut butter is created equally.

I myself am starting to use it again by heating it up and using it in a sauce.

If you ate far less of it, you wouldn't be as filled, though.

Why is opening a new jar of peanut butter so damn satisfying? Peeling that layer of foil back to expose the fresh, undisturbed peanut butter within. Plunging the knife in, lifting out that perfect dollop and introducing it to its first ménage à trois with its toasty and fruity counterparts.

ménage à trois with its toasty and fruity counterparts.

Gross. Peanut butter is great but not when combined with fruit. A "peanut butter sandwich" would NEVER include "jelly" in my world.

PS - The more chunks, the better. My wife will not even put nuts in brownies - sacrilege !
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

You're most likely in the minority with that jam opinion, but to each his own. Also, chunky is good, but chunky, smooth AND whipped all have their time and place.

Once, I heard that Elvis Presley loved peanut butter-banana grilled sandwiches. So, of course I made some. They were delicious but can't be good for your cardiovascular system to have too many ...

BTW, over here bread spreads are sold in tubs... except for peanut butter. Why are peanut butter sold in jars and not in tubs?
A tub has more surface area, making it easier to scoop the contents onto a butter-knife - especially if the spread is a bit hard.
Scooping peanut butter from a jar with a knife is unnatural and can get messy.
After a little bit of googling I could find only one brand that used tubs - and it is South-African.

Didn't Elvis also like potato chips mashed into the peanut butter/banana matrix? Anything salty to subdue the sweetness.

I'm inclined to agree.  Every time I buy no sugar/no palm oil peanut butter it just isn't as good as the bad stuff.

I think I will need to mix in a little water and splenda to get it just right.

Take the ramen, cook it in water half way done..

Then take that out, RINSE and drain.

Put 1 table spoons of oil into your wok..   then 1.5 table spoons of peanut butter.  stir that up till it's mixed a bit..

Chop up some celery into 3mm thick slices.   put it into the wok and stirfry until fragrant

Then finally add in the half cooked ramen..   Stirfry all together.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

That may be the same as americans assuming italians ate tomato sauce and meatballs all the time..

The only accurate food stereotype has been chinese people eating a ridiculous amount of rice..

I was visiting a farming village,  and the little kids (who worked the fields) there ate significantly more than I did.. these guys ate up to 4 bowls of rice for my 0.75 bowl.
