Um...

wow.. where do you live..

That is the thing...by all accounts it is a quiet, suburban neighborhood. But this is at least the second time this has happened, but certainly the first where it was a full tank stolen. I'm going to look into putting in a security system, even if it is just some motion lights, or maybe a motion activated camera.

What a crappy way to start the day.

Screw National Tire & Battery!!!

I found out (through my credit report, no less) that they lowered the limit on my card to $400 (It was double that before).

Naturally, I gave them a call about this.

Their reasoning? "Well, sir, the bank automatically lowered the limit on your card because it hasn't been used since February of 2012. The bank sees it as available bank funds that aren't being used and decided to reallocate it to where it could be put to use."

Me: "Is there a way to get my credit limit back to where it was before?"

Them: "Of course. We can request an increase to your credit limit, but this will entail running your credit report."

Me: "Let me get this straight. The bank made this arbitrary decision to lower my credit limit without informing me, and the only way for me to get that back is to take ANOTHER hit to my credit report in the form of a hard inquiry. Is that correct?"

Them: "Yes, sir, that is correct."

Me: "Okay, this highly irregular. What you are doing is screwing me at every turn."

Them: "How so?"

Me: "Because I am a responsible car owner who takes care of his vehicle and does the proper maintenance, and as such, does not NEED new tires on an annual basis, I am being punished."

Them: "Sir, we are not punishing you-"

Me: "Yes you are. You may not realize that you are, but you are. According to you, there is no choice in the matter. I either have to 1) spend money that I don't NEED to spend just to keep you from lowering my limit in case I do need to spend it, 2) take a hit on my credit report in the form of a hard inquiry to get that limit back up to where it was, or 3) watch as my credit to debt ratio gets worse because you decided to do this. There is no scenario here where I don't get screwed."

Them: "Well, we're sorry sir, but our hands are tied."

Me: "Then you've just lost a customer. This level of customer service, where I cannot know from day to day what my limit is because you can change it without informing me, coupled with the fact that all it's doing is hurting me financially to have this card, tells me that you, as a company, are not interested in your customers at all. Therefore, I want you to cancel my account."

I hate that CBA doesn't even stay at the same hotel as me.  I went to Nashville to visit him and listen to headphones and all he's doing is trying to be in another hotel and around halverso.

Also, I hate that hoof thought it was a good idea to run another meet merely a month after the last one so I can't go.

Niagara falls, but viagra rises.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Well, this situation seems a bit extreme, but I can say from personal experience that a college degree is just a piece of paper.

When I first started at my current job, I was one of two interns in my department.  The other intern was in his last semester of college. I was (and am still) not taking any college courses.

Come the end of his last semester, the other intern was let go. He had gotten his degree, but my boss still decided he was not worth keeping on the team.

Several months later, I started discussing the possibility of extending my education with him (my boss) and this is what he said to me:

"To be honest Ray, I used to think a college education was necessary for success. But just look at what Chris [the other intern] was like. He had a degree, yet he still had no idea where he was going in life. He lacked direction. He lacked a certain ability that would make him a valuable member of the team."

I won out over a college graduate simply based on my skills and my intelligence.

Moral of this story: college graduates CAN still be idiots, and a high-school dropout CAN be quite intelligent.

CAN BE... not implying that they usually are. I'm sure in your situation it's a completely different and ridiculous reason.

But less is more, so if you think less, you'll be even better off.

How will you ever hit 10K if you don't post everything you think of?

r/mechanicalkeyboards. I started out there when I first got into mechs about 6 months ago. Now that place is ****. Absolute ****. Everyone is always trying to repost things people can easily find for karma so nothing worth while ever makes it to the front page. The people at first were okay but since the explosion in growth the people there are absolutely moronic. Also the huge resentment for GH because ripster is the moderator.. r/mk used to actually be a nice place but now it is just god awful and I hate it. I literally just read the comments of a post by ripster on the K3kc and I felt sick to my stomach. The amount of misinformation is just too much to handle.

Hypocrites and mindless political stances. Very few people are actually consistent in what they think (me included).

Take abortion vs. welfare. If you can get out of the womb, democrats will take care of you for life. Many say you shouldn't be able to decide about how big your coke is, but you can kill an unborn child no problem. Republicans, on the other hand, compassionately protect unborn babies but that compassion evaporates once that baby is born and grows up a little. You're on your own. And you can't kill an unborn baby, but owning a gun so you can possibly kill another person (even if self defense) is some holier-than-God right.

Am I crazy, or are both sides incredibly hypocritical?

please continue to the gay rights and back.
let meaningless debates take all your attention which you could pay to the most important things.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

begging charities,

seriously i can't even run to the store to buy cat food without having to hear a speech by the worker about a donation to a charity they are supporting. Every store now seems to have an option to donate $1- $5 to some new charity everytime i swipe my credit card. It's my choice to donate to a cause stop forcing it, my girlfriend has a hard time saying no and everytime we go somewhere she gets nervous and ends up donating without having any idea what the charity actually is. Not to mention there is always already another guy sitting outside the store with a bucket and sign stopping me to tell me about why i should donate to his particular charity. Put this ontop of the homeless asking for change on my way home  >:D

when did charity shift from a simple jar on the counter, to being thrown in my face all day long
sell out and eat ass

see if the export guy can lower the value on the shipping form..

basically , everything shipping in and out of China, is marked as "gift" to avoid taxes.

for the exporter to do that, costs him NOTHING..  but for you it's $130
