Hi there, phetto <3. I've been busy with taking care of my dad, dealing with deaths in the family and general life stuff. Unfortunately it has taken up almost all my keyboard hobby time, but I am slowly getting more time to hang out, so you'll see more of me. Keep an eye out in my sig for a link to my holiday giveaway ;). I think I have time to get the thread up today.

Damn, your father passed away? That is so sad. Hit me up if you need something to ease your pain

No, I tried to write it so that you wouldn't think he passed away. My father is doing quite well at the moment. Only slight memory problems and fine motor function has not returned fully. Thanks for the kind words :).

Knowing that somewhere in my house is a model M (or a Dell mechanical keyboard, I only know what it was beige and clunky and didn't have a PS/2 connector) that I lent to my brother a few years ago before I knew what it really was. Its either somewhere in the house or got thrown out, I really hope not the latter.

Too late for that... I am dependent on my server for all my file hosting needs.

I'll simply wait till I get home to fix it.

I HATE YOU FOR THINKING THAT THAT PERSON WAS THE DOUCHEBAG WHEN THE SAME THING COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO THEM

(or perhaps you're restricting your scenario to ones where they necessarily were the d-bag but THAT PREVENTS ME FROM HAVING A POINT SO I HATE YOU FOR THAT ALSO)

WELL METALLIQAZ, I INVITE YOU TO LOOK DOWN AT YOUR KEYBOARD.  TAKE NOTE OF THE FACT THAT THE LEGENDS ARE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.  THAT MEANS THAT IF YOU'RE NOT TYPING IN ALL CAPS, ALL THE TIME, YOUR KEYBOARD IS BROKEN.

Totally happened to me the other day and I came out of the store and of course someone else was trying to pull in and gave me the look.

You have some yellow keycaps arriving soon to spread a little soothing yellow light into your life :)

OTOH I might have some Filco yellow keycaps in the not too distant future ...
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

i hate how ten years ago i was illegally forcibly searched before high school every day until i decided to stop going, and how twenty minutes ago i decided to call, at his house, the police officer detective chief who spearheaded this campaign, and how i got to hear him happy with his family and how he could only maintain the selfishly false, delusional belief that he did the right thing, when in fact i violated no laws and was singled out in the fear wake of post-columbine america.

the very people entrusted to protect us, ruining lives through the casual manipulation and misrepresentation of information to promote an image of criminality, and paint oneself in the gold-flecked paint of heroism.

something's gotta turn out right.
