My family visited this past weekend so I made pancake balls.  It had been so long since I last made them, was great to finally enjoy them again.  :)

"Cinnamon-bun filled pancakes"

My highschool friend that introduced me to them called them pancake balls, so I call them pancake balls.  Deal with it.

Technically they should be called Aebleskiver, which is also the name of the pan. (?)

Stuffed peppers. Even the kids liked them.

I love stuffed peppers but the rest of my family is indifferent to them. I use equal volumes of ham (chopped fine in the food processor) and cooked rice with moderate amounts of tomato sauce and soy sauce and minimal cheese.

Appears I'm almost allergic to everything "normal" people eat... diary, gluten, nuts. Teh horror.

So for me it's mostly vegan without soy and beans but with meat. Actually you can cook quite some decent meals with relatively normal products or substitutes that taste like the real deal (e.g., pasta based on mais).

Even if this maybe "somewhat true of the paleo environment"

That doesn't mean our gall bladder and liver can handle all the fat content.. that we'd replace the carbs with..

(also remember back then, people died at 30), so maybe it worked ok for that... but in general.. not if we live past 30.

This is the main bottleneck to that theory..  Many many people can't handle so much oil. and Protein maximum is 1500 calories a day under the assumption that your body commits ALL digestive resources to protein,  WHICH IT WILL NOT DO, in the prescence of Fat..

so,  if it were the case that we ate all meat.. and very little veggie for energy,   then we couldn't even maintain basal metabolic rate without a high consumption of fat..   BUT TRULY we can't eat that much fat.. before getting really sick and damaging our gallbladder and liver.

I would bet money that you did not even read the links, much less the books.

You impeach your credibility with emotional, off-the-cuff reactions devoid of actual engagement in the content of the debates.

True story. Also, what people sometimes tend to overlook, is that some of these diets are made for (or figured out by) people that ALREADY have a defect or malfunctioning organ. For instance, I know a couple of people following the paleo diet BECAUSE of their gallbladder (and/or liver).

What I can't understand are the assumptions about "fat" and "oil" with respect to primitive hunter-gatherers.

True, Atkins and others advocate more fat ("eating fat does not produce fat, it burns fat") but that is not the same conversation.
There is also the excellent chapter in "The Zone" called something like "The Hormonal Effects of Food" which is well worth reading.

But, the fact is, until the advent of agriculture a couple of hundred generations ago, and, more dramatically, the explosion of processed foods and refined carbohydrates in the last 3 generations, "food" was generally something natural and raw. Has the evolution of the human digestive system kept up with these changes? Evidence suggests not, at least for a significant portion of the population.

But, back to fat: first off, the vast bulk of ancient diets was plant material. The romantic notion of hearty he-men dragging home loads of meat every day is probably little more than a myth. And even when someone was lucky enough to make a kill, very few animals in the wild are carrying much body fat at all, with the exception of mammals in late summer or autumn in the harsher climates.

And "oils" were pretty much unknown until agriculture had been in full swing for quite a while.

Last, while ancient life expectancy was low, for a myriad of reasons, studies of prehistoric bodies generally reveal much better muscle and bone structure than most of us have today. There is growing evidence that "natural" blood tends toward alkalinity, while modern humans' blood seems to be trending ever more acidic.

As I understand it, multiple things may affect longevity besides food intake. What I have always been taught is, the biggest increase in longevity was not food nor medicine but rather hygiene. So of course food makes a difference in longevity. If you only consume certain products your arteries will get clogged really soon and you will probably have a heart attack soon. But there are more factors that influence longevity (of course).

I come to realize recently that consuming large amounts of bread causes you to have absolutely massive **** piles.

Sometimes I like to play a little game and try to eat enough bread the day prior to a nice **** that when I open the gates of sound and fury the pile is so daunting that it peaks above the water like the world's smelliest iceberg. Because not even the depths of the ceramic waters can contain my manly movements!  :thumb:

I come to realize recently that consuming large amounts of bread causes you to have absolutely massive **** piles.

Sometimes I like to play a little game and try to eat enough bread the day prior to a nice **** that when I open the gates of sound and fury the pile is so daunting that it peaks above the water like the world's smelliest iceberg. Because not even the depths of the ceramic waters can contain my manly movements!  :thumb:

Doesn't that depends on your fibers intake? And how your digestion system performs?

If you consumes bread with more fibers such as wheat stuff, etc I'm sure you'll be able to hit your piles target

And why are we discussing piles in what you eat thread haha

Butcher cut, 27.52 oz bone-in new york. I bought three of them, and then bought three more after deciding to invite some people over.

Seasoned generously with kosher salt, fresh garlic, and fresh-ground pepper. Cooked over natural charcoal.

The stuff I wanna do with that kind of meat 😤

Consider going sous vide, I do my steak only with sous vide now. It's easy, no hustle and perfect everytime

Meanwhile, good morning from Asia peeps :D

Omelette full with melted camembert followed by a french press with my favorite beans

This is for Bro, stop eating too much bacon in the morning

Up in Carmel by the Sea at out absolute favorite Chinese place: Tommy Wok.  The best chinese food I we have ever had.  This is out third time back.  We also took home an order of spicy noodle soup that the couple next to us had because it looked so good.  We showed up right after they opened and it was quickly full with a line out the door.  So good.
wut. i'd buy a ****ty IBM board for that green V2
