Mono worked, the few times I have tried it.

Their mobile offerings look promising, but where I work has moved in a different direction so I didn't get to investigate them any further.

@tp4tissue it does sound like medication lol but I'm talking about the company Xamarin for developing software.

@rowdy, awesome thanks. I think I found something about them offering a free version with limitations of course but I think I'm going to try it out.
