I am talking more about books

I thought those were characters from the Cartoon Network series though, not the books.

Of course there are books with the Clone Wars characters also ...

BTW, Carrie Fisher and Ian McDiarmid are coming to Celebration Europe II in Essen, Germany this summer!
That will be precisely one week before MrInterface's keyboard party in The Netherlands, not too far from there (by train or plane, anyway). Now, what should I do in the Ruhr area in the meantime? hmm..

most of these are no brainers, but how did tarkin get beat out by dooku? I know tarkin was a minor character but still.

and where the HELL is admiral Ackbar?! Did they intentionally leave him out because they knew 4chan would rig it up so he won?

Yeah, pretty much everything is rigged up to ultimately be one of the following finals:

Darth vs Han
Yoda vs Darth
Han vs Boba

Luke doesn't mind not being in the finals. He has to go to Toshi station to pick up some power converters.

Dooku beat Tarkin, and padme came surprisingly close to leia. and they used the prequel shots of Obi and Yoda. Gotta be some prequel fans out there.

Anakin =/= Darth Vader and vice versa. Being the same physical person is merely a technicality.

R2 and Leia?  How is that even a contest?  R2D2 hands down.

I was surprised Yoda won.  I voted for him since Luke is such a whiny little kid, but I was still surprised he won.

Yeah, artoo will eat leia alive.

I'm still saying that Artoo is going all the way. Semis will prob. be yoda vs artoo, and be pretty close.

I mean, everybody knows yoda because he talks wacky, but artoo is ARTOO. It's a popularity contest, and anybody can vote, so even people who watched it like 30 years ago while stoned, or 12 year old prequel kiddies will be voting.

palpatine hands down. Dooku was planned dead from the start, and he walked right into it. At least palpatine only got killed because he was betrayed, and that's after ruling the galactic republic for 30-odd years

r2 vs vadar  or r2 vs fett would be stupid..

vadar is only up there for the voice, and the endless media parodies of it...

He's not that great of a character.... dumb f..k got his arms and legs all cut off, I loled during that scene in the theater..

That's why he sucks and loses every light saber fight...  :)) :)) :))

R2 hacked into the mainframe of the death star and turned off the garbage disposal, saving Han, Leia, Chewie and Luke.

Boba Fett (accidentally) got hit with a stick because he let a half blind han solo stand a foot behind him for no discernible reason, and flew himself into the side of a barge, then proceeded to roll into the Sarlacc pit.

You're right, Artoo is way more badass.

Unfortunately, R2 is vulnerable to circuitry damage. So if it came down to Palpatine vs R2 - one lighting shot would end it quickly.

Also, pretty much any blaster fire. As long as Boba doesn't derp and fall into some pit, I think he would take R2 pretty easy.

vader might walk into the fight and throw the emperor into the death star core. Besides, it seems like (artoo) only gets disabled from electrical shocks, not actually fully damaged and in need of new parts. Some nanobot repair sorcery, who knows, who cares. They could throw one line of dialogue in to explain it, "Thank god artoo has the whatever machine installed."

I vaguely remember he needed a "repair" in one of the prequels after all his buddies got their asses shot off on the outside of that senate ship while attempting to repair (the hyperdrive?) or something. Maybe amidala gave him an upgrade.

R2 would be heavily reliant upon his surroundings, since he doesn't directly have the capability to fight. So essentially, he interfaced with the Death Star to make things happen in his favor. He wouldn't stand a chance in a bare arena 1v1.

That's when you find out he has a gladiator mode.

It's not like he's ever *needed* it before, he hangs around Jedi and Wookies.

I think he's fired a blaster before in some of the comics. I honestly don't know if it was canon or not, but it would make sense that he has a little manipulative arm that could hold/fire a handheld blaster. It would be hard to repair things that were designed to be serviced by humans without having some sort of hand analogue.

In any case, I think we're skewing the idea of this match-up. It's all a popularity contest, not a "who would win in a 1v1 deathmatch".

1v1 deathmatch

This is what it should be, imo. So basically, each contestant has a set of stats, similar to AD&D ruleset. Votes would add to specific die rolls - but it would still all rely on die rolls, mostly.

And obviously, some characters would have higher stats than others. A very high vote percentage could make the underdog come out a winner.

he has lit things on fire with his little feet jets before. . . Could get boba to dump his pack fuel somehow then ignite it?

I dunno, it seems like artoo has a batman utility belt filled with whatever item he needs right then. He's like the macgyver of star wars, except he's already got the stuff he needs in advance.
