We have to be careful how we "Define" quality of life..

Is the Life of a Drug addict, Quality of life, Even though he experiences 1600% the chemical happiness compared to a normal person, but his life burns out ~age 40..

Is the Life of an Obese Food addict, Quality of life, even though he experiences 133% the chemical happiness compared to a normal person, but his life burns out ~age 65

These are real dopamine percentages and life expectancy numbers.

If anything... The Heroin addict has a better life.. if BEING HAPPY with the least effort is all we measured.

Keep in mind though that most drug addicts spent at least part of their time not being high, and wanting to be. Considering how that effects their brains chemically and their bodies physically, that's probably significantly less fun than living a boring 80+ years-long drug-free life.
