*Pending Trade* Sapphire 6970 2 GB $190 shipped firm
« on: Sun, 23 September 2012, 19:18:51 »
Its a reference 6970 that was in a crossfire setup I had.  Never overclocked and is in great condition.  Will post up pictures tomorrow.  The first person w/ $190 gets it.  International shipping is a possibility but you will pay the difference.

Here it was in crossfire with a 6950:

Top view (I don't like stickers)

And yes, it is a 6970 and not a 6950 toxic:

Yes, you can Xfire a 6950 with a 6970 but the 6970 will auto-downclock to the 6950 speeds.

No warranty on the card.  I actually had it crossfired with a 6950 before I got the other 6970.  It does down clock to a 6950 but it's still a pretty beastly xfire.  I can't remember if this is the card that I removed the sticker from or not.  I'll be home tomorrow around 6pm if yall need pictures.

$190 is a little high given that the 7850 NEW is 90% as fast at stock clocks.

Overclock the 7850 and you'll be near 15-20% faster than the 6970 in games. The 7850 is also known to be easily over-clockable, with huge headroom.

Now, the 7850 is routinely sold for $190 + free game, which if sold drops it to $170-180

Performance per dollar, you are fair, but given that it's "used" and with no warranty, not so much.

Would you do $135, since it's used + slower than an equivalently priced new card??

Please don't mention ebay prices, because if you wanna sell to idiots, you shouldn't post on GH.

And for the record, I am genuinely interested in this card at the "correct" price.

Does his PM box not work or something? Doing it in PM is just negotiating, doing it so everyone can see like this is just purely threadcrapping. Your "correct price" is just a lowball. Best you search on craigslist and send all the lowball emails there.

I believe the above applies to Nvidia cards in SLI. However, this is not true for AMD cards in crossfire. Each card can be run at its own clocks and they can be overclocked separately.

This card is up for sale to find someone that might want to add another card instead of paying 300-400 for a single card.  It is still priced fairly at $190 shipped.  I appreciate you not ****ting in my thread anymore.  My PM box works.

Edited to add:
tissue, your offer is politely declined.

* My xfire setup dropped the 6970 clocks to 6950 clocks in xfire (gpu-z)

K guys' if one of you really buys this card at $190 after my assessment, I'll eat my words.

I'm was just assessing the card based on the current benchmark standings, and if anyone can disprove the facts I've stated, feel free.

7850 overclocks to 7870, which benches quite a bit higher than a 6970

7850 new in "USA" costs $170-180

I'm offering $135 for a 1.5 year old card that is 15% slower, and up to 30% slower with adaptive AA enable, with no warranty.

WTF, My offer was genuine, and if anyone's trolling it's the rest of you gawking at a fair and precise offer.

Clearly you haven't been in the computer hobby long, and don't understand the insane depreciation of hardware value, especially when it comes to graphics cards..

And dippingriz, Sorry about the fuss, I didn't mean for these trolls to blow this out of proportion. I had every intention of making a fair offer, and in my opinion did so.

so by that logic, a 7870 performs the same as a 580.  sell me a 580 for $150.  or again by that logic, a 7970 only performs 30% better, so sell me one of those for $220-230.

thats not how things work, plain and simple.   6950's are known to be worth about $175, and 6970's around $200.  $135 is a scum bag offer. So begin eating your words unless you are going to send me either of those cards mentioned above at those prices.

OP - GLWS, if i could fit a 4th in my rig id buy it, lol

You should stop trolling, cuz you suck at it, and it's embarrassing

Like I've said, I'd eat my words if ANYONE buys this card for 190$ given that they can buy a 7850 for $10 cheaper and FASTER.

I don't care what sellers price the card as, or what "idiots" are willing to pay.

I am referring to best choice on part of the consumer. The market price does not adjust as quickly because of those idiots, and I'm jus saying, maybe you're one of them.

So i mentioned in my post, If you want to sell to idiots, don't post on GH.  Are you an idiot, well then I suppose everyone should come post on GH because this xJaPx dude will buy your garbage.?

OP, i don't think your card is garbage. That was the fair tradein value for your card to anyone who has "All the information"

yes , very embarrassing, I’m blushing right now because of a valid argument made ONLINE.

So if I buy this card, you'll admit defeat?  Regardless of your special methods of deriving price, this would be very attractive to tons of people.  Anyone who has 1,2, or 3 6970s would easily jump at this rather then replace all of their cards for 7870s.   It’s not too hard to understand.  Like I said, if I could fit another one in my rig, I’d have bought it already.

It’s funny how you call people "idiots" who are willing to pay this for a 6970.  You do understand you are referring to people who spend thousands of dollars to play videogames and benchmark, on a forum where people spend thousands of dollars on keyboards.  It’s not idiocy, it’s called a hobby.  Some people would prefer to have a 6970 because they have a veteran driver with less bugs, like i said.  And also most people have 69XX series cards, and aren’t going to sell their 6970, just to buy a 7870. That would be a waste of time.  So anyone looking for x/tri/quad fire would be again, very interested in this.  Its not my fault you can't see anything but the numbers, it’s actually a pretty simple concept to understand.

Just go over to OCN and start mocking people because their 580's performed close to 6970s, yet they paid way more money.  You are the only idiot here, and frankly you are the one embarrassing yourself with your close minded, "I’m always right" POV.

On topic - great price on this card.  You should try posting on OCN.  If you don’t have an account over there, i'd post it for you, just give me a PM.

GLWS... I say this is a great price, plus it includes shipping.  This coming from a rational, well educated consumer (that can make decisions for himself, a concept surprising to some people).

I see you come from OCN, which indeed by your words and not mine, you've backed yourself into the "idiot's" corner.

Not to even bring up the Atrocious Mech key guide over there.

And I concur with your mentioning that people who has a 580 would defend it. Of course, because they're not defending their card, they're defending the fact that they were stupid enough to pay that price to begin with. :D

And it is also true that if someone paid the current market rate for a 580 is an idiot, when they can buy again a 7850 for less and have it be faster in "most" cases @ 2megapixel resolutions and below.

My point has never been on opinion. I looked at this from the perspective of performance to dollar.   You get more while paying less for a 7850.

I AM interested in this card unlike the rest of you trolls. And my assessment was on the dot in terms of performance per dollar, it was also MY personal assessment, and according to YOU, you should respect that.

I know you're probably crying in the corner or at least very frustrated on the inside, that's ok. People like you can't handle the truth.
