They look pretty good. It'll be interesting to see their build qualities in comparison to the TKL quickfires. They look A LOT more ricey, which is a marketing gesture at the
very very twitchy gaming scene where everything needs lights and some sort of transformer futuristic look.

Might get reds in one of those boards rather than the TKL if the price is right.

Yay for selling out to peer pressure...

The exact thing which made the quickfire so popular here has been abandoned in favour of ultra flashy marketing gimmicks. I guess they work extremely well.

18K gold plated ultra low latency USB plugs must make things faster!

Razer fanboys are why we can't have nice things..*says this using a razer mouse -.-*

At least you now have a keyboard that wasn't desigined for a 11 year old.

The trigger looks like an iOne board. (just like a Razer Black Widow, expecting similar quality).
The QFP looks iOne as well.

It's too bad.  At least they built one very high quality unit with Costar. (QFR!)

We have to keep in mind that we are super picky and favour the less flashy boards.  Even the lowest mech board (BW, BWU, PLU, ABS, etc...) is better than having 99% of the rubber domes. (Sidewinder X4 the exception?)  If they are cheap and let people get on a good board, then more power to them.  Maybe this will finally push Razer to get all of their BW variants onto their 6kro design instead of staying all on the 2kro.  Can you tell that the BWU (not stealth) being 2kro still ticks me off?

If I had to pick one, I like the Pro better. Minimal backlight and it looks okay... and no macro keys. I remember being like 10 and wanting a Razer keyboard though ^^ I've tried the TKL CM board and it was really good, so maybe these will live up to the expectations.

True, but if the CM was MUCH cheaper then I could have lived with the looks or done something about them.

I really wish the Trigger wasn't so hideous. Is it so wrong to want a subtle, high quality mech with macro keys and a backlight?

I'll probably just preorder a KBT Race. I'm a sucker for white LEDs

edit: Crossing my fingers for an all-black board with red switches just like the Quickfire Rapid.

I'm following CM for quite some time now and I feel that they are the hit-and-run type.
Their marketing lies somewhere between nonexistent and rubbish.

The "quickfire rapid" was a mistake, most probably.

if they are able to produce a board with NKRO under USB, why need 6KRO/NKRO switching mode?

I've just received the QuickFire tenkeyless Blues. Seems to be good quality and the NKRO is a non-issue for me.
We will see after some weeks of use.

The tenkeyless is one of the best boards on the market since it is basicly a FILCO....this thread is about the newer releases which look to be going down the same path as the razer blackwidow.

Tenkeyless has nkro over ps/2, and 6kro over usb. It is a LOVELY board apart from the keycaps...

hah, youd be surprised, a lot of people at gaming events said it looks too subtle ^^
i agree with you, but oh well...

Lucky for some of us though.

you mean we dont spend countless resources trying to brainwash people like razer? jupp, thats correct... :D
marketing being rubbish, oh well... distributors and shops dont really know the products they carry, they see all other keyboards advertise gold plated usb plugs, so what do you know, if you ask them for feedback they want a keyboard with gold plated super low latency plugs... as long as the product is alright...

what do you mean with hit and run?
and why would you call the gfr a mistake? its our most successful keyboard...

macs dont work in nkro mode, and some pcs dont boot in nkro mode...

Quote from: laffindude;571241

sorry, thats what i thought as well... supposedly it is possible, but tricky to implement...
supposedly its hard to tweak the firmware to work with NKRO...

anyways, hands up everybody who presses and holds more than 6 keys with his left hand while playing games... nobody? what a surprise! :P
but still everybody wants NKRO... so we will work on it and i hope get it working on all future keyboards.
i dont see the point haha, but people want it... theyll never use it, but... they want it :D

so nobody here has tried trigger? :/

I mean, at least they aren't glossy with backlight. IMO that looks terrible, although, I don't use backlight or ever look down at my keyboard, so it doesn't really matter, I guess. Really, we just have to wait for reviews to come out until we can know about the quality of them.

Filcos are way more expensive aren't they?? I would expect the quality to be better if I paid 2x or 3x the price of another keyboard. But you gotta admit for the price the CM Storm Quick Fire Rapid is still pretty good. Just not as great as Filcos I'm assuming? I've never used Filco before so I can't compare =S

Quote from: battlesheep;583739

I've tried the Trigger and Quick Fire Pro before...and honestly I prefer the Quick Fire Rapid. There is a difference in feeling in quality most probably because of the different OEM that made the keyboards. Quick Fire Rapid just feels better for the price.

yeah the pricing for the cm storm is really good for any mechanical keyboard just that myself having used higher quality keyboards (filco, das) expect more if that makes any sense~
i don't recommend you buying them if you find the cm storm good because i honestly don't think that the 3x price tag for a slightly better keyfeel is worth it. i'm just spoiled now :(

and yeah costar does make both i believe
