« on: Sat, 14 March 2020, 16:48:17 »
Kind of a snoozy movie no?  plot was a bit boring even as stuffs were blow'n up. haha.

Cinematography is great, but they shot it on ArriAlexa, so, what doesn't look good shot on Arri ? LOL

No I did not, most of the time I have to focus on homework instead of movies.

I didn't think I'd like it so haven't been interested in it. Same for Dunkirk.

I want to see it. I will probably rent it at some point. The bad thing about digital rentals is that you only have 24 hours to watch it. It usually takes me like 3+ sittings to finish a regular movie.

I saw it and thought it was really good. The premise was a bit stupid (sending two regular troops to send a critical message), but the cinematography and depiction of WWI was very good. I am surprised you found it boring since most of the movie was suspenseful action.

On the other hand, I don't recall liking Dunkirk at all, but maybe that's because I didn't watch it in a movie theater. 1917 is definitely a movie you have to watch in one sitting (and possibly in a movie theater) to get the full effect of.
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

The world has become a weird place.

I thought it was pretty good. Some scenes felt a little tangential and inconsequential, but kinda felt like playing through a CoD campaign or something. I had a good time watching it in theaters
