It is a common tactic of trolls to do everything they can to get a rise out of a particular target, and then just go "lol u mad?" and play it off.

Best thing to do is just ignore them.

Besides, let's get a grip: we're talking about keyboard switches here.

I've used buckling springs and blue cherries for a few years and like those switches a lot. The only problem for me was that sometimes the noise is too distracting and buckling springs feel too stiff if your fingers are "tired". I've also tried Cherry MX Browns, which I didn't like at all. I don't consider all rubber domes horrible: old Key Tronic Ergo Force 'boards are totally usable.

I bought a Topre Realforce 88U a few days ago and I absolutely love it. It seems to combine the best parts of the switches I like: the tactility and snappiness of blue cherries / buckling springs, and the silent-y "thock thock" sound of the Key Tronic. I consider the feel of the Topres to be more similar to buckling springs than to Cherry blues. If someone is familiar with Key 'Tronic boards, the Topres could be described as the 'über Key Tronic'. Totally recommended.

Hah, I know exactly what you mean!  My obsession started with starcraft as well.  I've gone through  5 different mice, and I now have like 7 keyboards, all because of that game!  Lol, well that's where it all started at  least.  I now really like this hobby!

Dude if it wasn't for Starcraft 2 I would have never found out about all these stuff. The gateway drug was mechanical keyboards which led me into gaming mouses. Like I even know about the different senors that mouses uses like pixart and avago.  Who the **** knows about these kinds of things...like seriously lol.  I think I spent over $1,500 into peripherals.  **** you Starcraft and **** you Geek Hack Sincerely my wallet.

There is only one way, buy a board and try them out for at least a week.

Apparently Amazon sells RF keyboard.  I think I'm going to order it and try it out after I read their return policy and confirm their return policy.  I do this a lot of gaming mouses.  I have order roughly around 8 mouses that I have gave a test drive and returned.  Man why the **** do I have such an expensive hobby.  Ever since I picked up Starcraft 2 I started to collect mouses and keyboards and everything that comes along with that, keycaps, mouse pads, mouse feet etc.... Such a money sink but I enjoy it..... :-X
Do you like the sound?  If you're heavy handed and like the sound, Model M's are great for that.  I like the my Realforce 45g uniform, as it's closer to a HHKB feel.  I don't like the variable weight RF that I have, it just doesn't suit me.  If you're heavy handed, look at the 55g weighted key.

edit:  Will you enjoy Topre?  Do you like typing on boobies?  I do.  I like typing on boobies a lot!

Hi there, if you are using KB for playing games i think Model M is not suit for it.
i got a Model M but not using it for playing games and only use it for typing. you will get addicted to it if you are heavy handed.

Is this the keyboard you are talking about?

This is incredibly typical... expensive keyboard seems awesome to some, and not awesome to others...  OP should just ignore everyone here because there's almost 0 objectivity.  Pick up the realforce if it seems like a good fit for you.  It's not like the product description is wrong, and obviously not everyone hates it.

Just because a Topre switch has a rubber dome as part of it's mechanism does not make it a "rubber dome" keyboard. Obvious troll.

Topre has nice yellow keycaps.  If you like yellow keycaps, get a Topre ;)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Buy a good deal used one and if you don't like it sell it for the same price as your paid for it. You might even sell it for more if you got a food deal on it.
