A few questions from a new comer

Hello all, Just registered my account today and have been on the forum ever since.

There are a few questions that I would like to ask. First of all, are the Lubes necessary? I mean I have been using my Ducky 9008S with Blues for six months now, and I have been noticing some keys are not as "bouncy" as in some times after pressing on them, they will be stuck half way.

So will applying Lube fix this problem or is it irrelevant?

Secondly, this would seem the worst first world problem ever, but I see a lot of people with multiple boards. I'm wondering are you guys just trying to collect them? Use them from time to time? or have multiple uses for each (work, gaming, writing,etc.)

Not really sure about lubes i'll leave that to someone else.

I think with multiple boards everything that you listed is the reasons and it differs for everyone There is always the fascination of trying a new switch as well so that means having multiple boards. There is also a lot of people that have one board for work and one for at home. I also find that if i pick one up for cheap I'm not too fussed about selling it. I used to rotate my boards a lot more but now I've picked up a HHKB I do that a lot less

I'm not sure about lubes either, I'm planning on getting some to try it out. I'll have to get back to you.

What do people do with their keyboards? You can get a glimpse of what people do in that thread. But some people are collectors and some ppl like different layouts/switches. I currently have a board at work and at home. Each keyboard feels different, even if it has the same switches so this could contribute to having multiple boards as well.

I am actually thinking of getting the HHKB Pro 2 for work along with the hard cover since I always have to travel to different location. But for me, its not in the price range of a "toy", so I'm carefully considering the pros and cons.

One thing about the HHKBPro2 that I'm worried about is the location of the CTRL key being where the caps locks are. I mostly deal with word, excel, ppt, etc. documents where copy and paste function is used a lot. And also, I see a lot more custom keycaps for Cherry MX switches than topre switches. I want to customize my HHKB if possible.

Personally, I love building computers. If I had unlimited money I would built the smallest computer I could, the larger computer I could, the one with the most green colored hardware, something built around a specific unique case.

I;m alreayd starting a collection of video game keycaps, maybe eventually I'll put together an all video game board, as well as an all metal board, then the smallest, quietest, stealthiest board I can find. Some people just buy Model M after Model M and collect them, but putting them together is the best part in my opinion.

I think it was Ripster that said "you cant build the perfect board and you will go broke trying", or something.

Interesting. And I totally agree with what Ripster said. Nonetheless, I will start to collect my custom keycaps for my "future perfect" keyboard.

Lol, no i'm not white, but I am from Canada originally, Toronto to be exact. I'm only here for work.

I have had keys sticking down on my Ducky, but only those with stabilisers (e.g. Shift, Backspace) where the key was not pressed fully down on the stabilisers.

Other than that mine, also about 6 months old, has not a single problem.

Mine are on the number keys at the top. "7" and "9" to be precise.
