It's an absolute blast! I love the series and this one is no different. Worth every penny even if it's just for a single player.

You don't see the awesome in anything, why should this be different.

Got about 3 hours into it... thoroughly bored... yes there's some nice original art and attempts at creativity... but the game fails to make me care about the characters..

I don't care if this dumb bimbo dies.. that EVIL plot the old guy's on, so what?? I say let um' do it..

and the use of black people as slaves, social commentary is fine, but I fail to see one here.. they're no more than scenery in this game much like humans in the transformers movie..

And the gameplay,, ugh... I ran through most of this so far with just the gun... there's really no need for the powers at all..

Run straight forward, don't stop shooting, and melee on the thumb button... pretty unstoppable...

and freakin'' checking 10000000 drawers for consumables.. I think I hate this game now.......  >:D

I didn't just sit down and play it for 8 hours, only stopping twice to cook and eat a cheese tostie and then again to use the toilet. >.> Don't judge me.

For comparison, what is a game that you truly enjoyed?

WTF?  Where is the cynicism?  You mistake asociality, negativism, pessimism and misanthropy (and possibly some Asperger's Syndrome) for cynicism.  Cynics distrust the motives of others, since they see self-interest as the motive behind almost every human action.   A troll, on the other hand, simply sprays everyone with negative comments like a dog with diarrhea sprays the sidewalk with its fecal matter.   Such is not high-browed cynicism, but rather low-browed boorishness.  Please do not mistake one for the other.

:D if only they would english patch TOTD " 2 "... sigh.... dreaming of the day..

That and HALO 3 -- PC.....

those are my most anticipated.....

I enjoyed FTL before I realized I can't do anything about the final boss if I don't "LUCK-OUT" and get the right weapon set in the stores.

As far as cynicism.. I would consider myself a step beyond being a cynic.. Because I do not distrust others.. I embrace the fact that human beings consider and project all views based on oneself...

That's OK..

When I say I hate' a certain game...

I am merely saying the mechanics aren't very fun and only serve to consume time that does not further even remotely the "fantasy-escape" that was the "purpose" of the piece of purchased "entertainment"

I redboxed it yesterday and played for about 3hrs. I thought it was fun, but it doesn't seem as creepy first two which was a disappointment.

PS3, I don't get much time to play games these days so I usually just rent something if I want to play for a little bit and spend $2 instead of $30-60.

My Steam says 12 hours, but I've seen people finish it in 8.
