My family is bonkers so I'm trying to stay in bed as long as I can.

I'm out of here in 7 months, fortunately.

well if these are old "rich" people.. you should listen.. they're a good source of information on flipping land for when you yourself have some startup money..

but if these are just "old" "old" people, as in they own an acre and 5 chickens.. you can safely ignore everything that comes outta their mouths...

My sister just left and my parents and I are getting ready to go to my other sister's house, where the first sister will meet us later. So I'm on GH instead of watching my parents wrap presents, I guess.

Well some of us have kids and have family members who never get to see those kids so we take photos then print them out and take them to them, because you know there are still people who don't know there is an internet.

My family didn't want t o celebrate christmas this year. Literally my only gift was from the GH SS (and I joined two more secret santas which didn't come through apparently)

I question whether they're really that interested.. or is it just one of those "things" you do, a social routine..

Someone you haven't met for a long time.. Clearly they're not all that important to you, so then next their kids.. how important are those kids.. what's so interesting about kids..

Save for if one's child is some sort of savant, are they really much novelty ?

and People without the internet.. what good does it do them to see your kids.. it just seems like.. the difference between people with internet and without internet is so great that there wouldn't be much synergistic collaborations possible.. so why even engage in social discourse in the first place..

Because I got Flu, it totally sux cause I LOVE Christmas. My family is nice and we always have fun. And the food, god what will I miss...

I am also very sad because my grandmother is getting older and I know there's not that many Christmas left with her ...

it really pisses me to not be able to attend it this year...

My immediate family's celebrations have wrapped up, and I have a few celebrations with extended family and friends in the next week or so, but there's nothing going on right now.

Regarding pictures, I feel like my family assigns more importance to the taking of pictures than the reviewing of pictures later. We do tend to hang onto them, and will occasionally archive binge our photo directory, but the majority of pictures we take don't ever get looked at. It doesn't feel right to let the day go by without taking photos, more through tradition than anything else.

I consider it my vacation when the wife takes the kids to ND for a visit. Being alone for several days (sometimes a week or two), whether working or relaxing, very much helps me to recharge.
