I think this is the lowest price for a 840 PRO 256GB drive. You have to go to checkout to see the final price.

You get 940 Super Points = $9.40 back unless there is a better promotion today.

Exactly how much more storage do you need if you've just run out of 6 TB and have many 830's and M4's? :))

Sell m4s
Buy 840 pros

YES! Finally I caught one of the Samsung 840 Pro deals in time. And a great one at that!

Ordered.

Now I just need a Mini-ITX motherboard with Thunderbolt support to come out.

my m4s are all working fine, but they're outdated relative to everything else now.. I feel so yesterday... all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay,  Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Think twice on that Mini-ITX..  VERY VERY limiting in the long-run.. It was very cool for the first few days, then after a month you're like, ****.... this is a problem...

He probably means expansion potential.
It's not limited in anyway other than pcie slots/sata ports. If you only need 4-6 drives connected internally, you're fine.

The pcie slot aside... The point of mitx is small form factor... THIS is cute for the month you build it, but then you're like, f... I wish I could put some more drives in there... TOO BAD.... even if you have the slots for it, no space in the case..

If you got a "big" case, then that defeats the purpose of mitx...

I used to use big cases (FT02), but I no longer use internal mechanical drives due to noise, so there's absolutely no point of going bigger than mitx for me anyway. I've been using them for two years and have never once wished I had more space for anything (SG05, Q11R, etc.)

The only spinning disks I have are in 1 system in the basement.  13TB worth :)

Everything else is on flash.

Haha, exactly. All static data can reside on server/external drives and there's no need for it to be on the computers you actively use. I don't even have spinners in my laptop.

Oh. This is a non-issue for me. I've never had more than one graphics card, two drives, and two memory sticks in any PC I've built. All my previous PC's have had mid or full towers with just wasted space. I got a mini-ITX case that is large enough for a full size gaming video card and that's all I need.

Now I'm waiting for somebody to post a great deal on a moduler PSU.

I decided to keep a spinny in my laptop, most of the time it's powered down.  Since going on the road has been perilous for my data historically, I have the system setup to snapshot to the HDD every 4 hrs and do a full backup every 3 days.

No, actually.  I haven't wasted enough money on hardware to merit more than DVDs.

But the rips have bad contrast.. the resolution is high, but the details are gone..
