Impersonations
« on: Thu, 13 June 2013, 09:54:33 »
I'll impersonate another forum member. Then you guess who it is and do your own impersonation. And so on.

Of course these are going to be over the top and will often involve mockery. If you don't want to be made fun of you can tell me to put your name in the "I hate fun, and also puppies" box.

Quote from: I hate fun and puppies, don't mock me
Nobody yet

Now that that's out of the way, let's begin.

"I see you're interested in the filco, but I'd recommend you direct wire a keyboard custom made for your hand.
Getting the parts is expensive and difficult, but you'd probably blow it all on novelty caps anyway. Start off strong by having plates custom cut and connecting cherry switches with diodes and wire.
It's the by far most ergonmic method and really the only thing that makes any sense at all. Things like cases are only useless flair.
ALL other methods are flawed. You can get a flawed board, or custom make a keyboard fit to your hand from scratch."

Is it just me, or is smallfry sometimes bashing the seller or the item with a veiled comment,  then curtails that with GLWS... he may indeed have some deviance in him :D

Or maybe I'm too often looking--- for the dark side.

It was bunny, but you're right it could've been either except bunny never capitalizes his sentences.

The middle one was MM... err I mean Bro Caps, aka Captain sarcasti.gif, an endearing tribute.

#1 - "Neue GeekHack"

#2 - "I'm not blowing anyone off."

#3 - "I no longer use this account"

#4 - "I'm talking about the words **** and *****"

The first 3 are way too easy for the veterans here... The fourth one is the hard one.

Let's see, not an old timer, but I'll give it a shot:

#1 - Ripster.  Don't forget Geekwhack and his other pejoratives for the site.

#2 - Sounds like TheProfosist in his clusterf*ck of a thread for the Phantom building.

#3 - Sounds like MagicMeatBall/MMB/Bro Caps

#4 - No clue, but sounds like some of the more aggressive/trollish members like tp4tissue.  Pretty sure I'm wrong here.

That's not cool Tsangan, and it's uncalled for.

This looks like a total bashing thread. :(

We can say positive things too. Most things will be bashy since that's most memorable, but I'd like to see some good complimentary impersonations too.

My first post was ragging on tp, but I love the dudes posts.

I don't want this to get mean, just friendly insults. Don't try to tell me yop never jest with your friends. If it devolves to the point where it's just like ""I'm a frikkin idiot who is dumb" who am I guys???" I'll just lock it.

why don't you come to west oakland and test that theory, hood expert

Let's analyze this statement for a few paragraphs.  Your implication seems to be that tp has not in fact spent much time in "the hood".  But whether or not that is true is irrelevant!  His reaction to your post is valid regardless and contains a statement which we can subject to analysis.  If I grew up in "the hood" (I didn't) long enough to "cap" someone (I never have), what does that have to do with West Oakland (lovely city though I'm sure it is, during the daytime at least).

The exact definition of free market has been disputed and made complex by collectivist political philosophers and socialist economic ideas. This contention arose from the divergence of classical economists such as Adam Smith, David Ricardo, and Thomas Malthus from the continental economic science developed primarily by the Spanish scholastic and French classical economists, including Richard Cantillon, Anne-Robert-Jacques Turgot, Jean-Baptiste Say and Frédéric Bastiat. To illustrate the ambiguity, Smith discarded subjective value theory and contended that an unregulated market was prone to the rise of monopolies and was therefore not "free" in this sense. In modern economics, this split is still present both in scientific methodology and political philosophy. Neoclassical Keynesian, monetarist and Chicago school economists employ logical positivism and promote the socialisation of money, price fixed interest rates, market regulation, as well as public spending programs in order to "free" people from the inherent inequalities of laissez-faire economies.

While tp's posts are usually grating and contrarian, his point stands in my view.  In sum, anybody wanna buy a mousepad?

oh crap, my guesses were tinlong and sth.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.
