Ringing...

So....  I got a power board that rings... it seems the epoxy they put around the caps and inductors have loosened and cracked over the years of temperature changes..

Is this some sort of special epoxy?  is there a name for it?  heat-tolerant.. something?

I got cold weld epoxy, would that work, i gotta check if it conducts.

I believe what youre referring to is called silastic, although im sure thats a brand name like kleenex or velcro. Secondarily im sure it varies from item to item based on where it was made (cost cutting measures, etc).

i dont think cold weld epoxy is what youre after. You really want a silicon rubber type deal. 
If youre feeling super lazy and just want to be done with it, you can use hot glue, but this is a generally bad solution.

Are u sure it's a silicone rubber... it feels hard.. like epoxy.
