I got a problem with my computer
« on: Wed, 25 December 2013, 04:35:51 »

This has happened a few times in the past and after a short period of this not happening it has happened today. Do you guys know what might be the issue?
Thanks

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

That link might not be too far off the mark then.  At least the Windows 7 bit is applicable, and presumably you have ATI graphics card too.

yeah, I do. It's ati radeon 6800 or something among those lines. Kinda outdated but it gets the job done.

Do you use a board with a debug LED?

he has an ati 6800... what makes you think he'd bother with a board with diag leds.

Do the standard graphics card affair.. remove heatsink clean vacuum card, reapply thermal paste..

Check for bulging capacitors..

Vacuum components surrounding the pcie/agp port,  because dust can absorb moisture and cause a short.

I have (until today) a 6800 and a board with debug LEDs. Don't assume, my friend.

Sounds like you have a driver error.

On reboot press F8 until you get into safe mode. Once Win7 has loaded, right click on "Computer" and go to properties. On that window go to the device manager (left side). Under device manager expand your display adapters. Right click on the ATI display adapter and click uninstall.

Reboot your computer in normal windows, and your system will try to install the necessary drivers. You may also wish to go directly to the product manufacturer's download page to install their official drivers.

And don't forget to have a Merry Christmas!

Thanks for your help guys. I updated my drivers and now we will see how this will go. If I get this error once more I will try tp4's and wildcard's solution. I'm locking this topic right now. If these solutions wont work then I will open this topic once again.
Thanks a lot!
