Happy hacking professional 2 Vol_dn and vol_up, mute, eject doesn't work yet

So I just received this new topre keyboard in the mail and right out of the box, those keys do not work. I have switches 1 and 3 on and I cannot use the volume control by fn+a or fn+s for vol_dn and vol_up. Anyone know how?

They send out a different keycode, which I guess can be mapped within windows environments. For that you will need something like autohotkey for windows in the very least.

Which reminds me. I need to go update that little config of mine.. finally figured out some more things.

Have you tried aquakey to see what, if any, scan code the keys return?

Also remember to unplug HHKB, change dip switch, then plug back in.

yeah I looking at aquakey not sure how to interpret the results I'm seeing here. I also did unplug and replug after chaning the dip switch as well.

Ideally you should unplug (or disable keyboard if you can from computer side), change the DIP switches as needed then plug the keyboard back in (obviously re-enable the keyboard if you disabled it before). Not changing DIP switches whilst the keyboard is still plugged in. I am not sure if the keyboard will still send out same results on Aquakey as when the keyboard is set to windows mode via DIP switch.

Anyway, check both ways and make sure to unplug the keyboard _before_ you change DIP switches.

It looks like Windows doesn't recognize those keys. I didn't see any key codes on both AHK and Aquakeytest. To use those keys on Windows you will need some hack.

Documentation suggests that you need to install drivers on the Mac.

Which version of Mac OS are you using?

Maybe Apple included some drivers or something in the OS.

I've done some Googling in this regard, and I've run across something that seems interesting, but I'm not sure if it may work like I would hope.

Apparently, if you dual boot Windows on a Mac and wish to run Boot Camp on Windows, there are drivers that do something. I'm just not entirely sure what, and I haven't tried to find and install them yet.
