Data has his moments, like when he is playing at Sherlock Holmes and pulls out a huge magnifying glass to inspect the fish tank in Picard's office. And his cat poem. And his acting.
The saddest thing about Star Trek is stealing other people's storylines because "Data" is just another "
Pinocchio" due to it's desire to be human. They don't go far in telling new stories in that show because telling the same old style fables seem quite popular in the US at that time.
The single best character which peaked my boyish interest at that time period was Jadzia Dax, her face with that gorgeous textural tat running either side of her face and neck drove me insane because she once said that the pigmentation keeps going all the way down there and ends at a very discrete spot. Almost like a sexy highlight in case you needed directions (rriiigggghhhttttt)

.
Also liked "Star Trek : Enterprise" episodes in which Captain Archer's dog "Porphos" acted better than the rest of the cast. One up for the dogs but thumbs down on the lame human actors.
