Corsair Vengeance K95

Last night, Corsair announced the successor of the K90: the K95. I think it looks really nice. Hopefully it works better than the K90

I would love for this to be an awesome keyboard; dedicated media keys always get my attention.  I'll wait for reviews to start coming in.

I am using K90 at work, it's a pretty nice keyboard. The macro keys are very handy. I am not bothering with the non-mechanical keys on K90. but I do like the new version, especially now I can replace all the keycaps.

Price is little bit high though

Looks like same OEM as before, whoever it is. This is what they should have done in the first place. That partial rubberdomes crap was totally pointless and I think what caused all the behavior problems.

we don't know for sure if the rubberdomes caused the serious matrixing problems... What we do know is that the K90 variant with the plastic snap on side feels cheap...

They aught to make this "whole thing" 1 plate.

What they need to do is make K65 also full mechanical and full backlit then we have a winner.  Though to be honest I prefer the silver plate better than black matte plate.

I would be rather pleased with a K65.  I don't really need the extra macro keys to be honest.

Yeah. The K90 was a solid keyboard even with the rubber dome portions. But the software and firmware, I'm pretty sure the people responsible there are LONG fired. And they delayed release because of it - so based on what actually got shipped...

If they were fired long time ago, why does my M60 still sucks @ss even with the last firmware and software update (which was released in July 2012 and is still a piece of crap)?

To me, there's just one reason. Corsair doesn't gives a rat's @ss about it

How is the price high compared to something like the Filco which is bare bones? I think it is in line especially compared to other Cherry Red MX boards.

Glad they got it right the second time. The rubberdome mixture was a little weird.

Most likely, the Corsair is going to find its way into some retail outlets whereas the Ducky will not.  This will mean people that know nothing about the Ducky will still have some options besides Razer for mechanicals that they can physically check out.  Granted, the QFR is available at retail as well but options aren't necessarily a bad thing.

I agree, QFR is all you need to know...

Having more mechanical keyboards in for people to test isn't necessarily bad.  Depending on the situation, you may find that the store only has QFR blues/browns and you want to try reds.  This gives you an option to try reds.  Come to think of it, I was in that very situation at two Fry's stores.  The reds I tried were on a K60 and K90.  The QFR in store were only brown and blue.

The other benefit is that some will feel that they've been able to try at least a few keyboards out and aren't just going with what everyone told them to go with.  The appearance of choice can be helpful.

Whether or not this keyboard is any good is another story, of course, but there's some positives to come out of it.

Nope, and the only one that has a removable module is the Azio Levetron Mech4 and Mech5. Although, it's the keypad itself and those keys are membrane as far as I know and can be placed on either left or right side of the keyboard.



But it's an atrocity anyway.

Oh gods, the Azio. I've actually had my hands on one. Most atrocious keyboard I've ever touched in terms of feel. Though the macro keypad can be put anywhere on the length of the keyboard. Which was nice until you realized that everywhere you can put it blocks the function keys or Escape. (Seriously, what idiot in their engineering department didn't notice that?)

Really? I mean it's a full keyboard with a black anodized aluminum casing. A custom casing like that would cost you $325 from Feng and that's not even a full keyboard.



I mean I understand, its not exactly the most mod-friendly keyboard around, but the more I look at it the more I appreciate its design. The only thing really holding me back is how much desk space this thing is going to use up. That, and I haven't gotten a chance to try out any MX reds yet.

EDIT: I also kind of wish the USB cord was on the far-left side instead of centered. Centered cords on a keyboard just don't look right to me.

I mean I understand, its not exactly the most mod-friendly keyboard around, but the more I look at it the more I appreciate its design. The only thing really holding me back is how much desk space this thing is going to use up. That, and I haven't gotten a chance to try out any MX reds yet.

the back is plastic, that side addon' is plastic...

When I went through 2 K60 and 1 K90 I noticed all the edges were poorly done...

^LOL yeah now that I look at it the side add-on does look like it is made of plastic. I thought "aluminum chassis" in their press release meant the whole casing was aluminum. I stand corrected.

Technically anything that your finger "can" touch is "tactile"  Even things that it can't touch, if the rotational sensors inside your joints pick up the resistance.. it's still tactile...
