I find it nearly impossible to put money away. There are way to many things I want. Not so much keyboards these days but vape stuff, ear stretching stuff, Booze.....

The problem is that I just don't make enough money

My solution was to only look for stuff that is incredibly hard to get a hold of.  Forced budgeting and saving since I can't find people to throw money at fast enough.

Speaking of, I accidentally overpaid for some booze yesterday.  Didn't even look at the price, turns out it was 50% more than I usually pay for the same thing from other stores.      Not a pleasant discovery...

On topic though, I definitely do have trouble saving money.  I'm trying to fix that, but it's a pretty tough thing to do.

Then its gone, and I want keycaps or a new keyboard or a monitor or a new laptop or a vidya game.

I told myself I would start putting away £400 a month and split it across four savings accounts; for my car, new computer, holiday and a tattoo.

That was 6 months ago and I have £400 in the car account and nothing in the others because I keep buying ****...

Are you kidding? You want an European to drive through flyover country? Any midwestern state is bigger than England and most are flat as a griddle and every one of them has exactly the same fast food joints. Not to mention you will see exactly the same names (of small towns) as you see in Europe - Paris, Berlin, Rome, Moscow, Warsaw, Oslo. Presumably some European immigrant in 1890 decided that he and his brothers' homesteads combined would someday be as cosmopolitan as the Ile de France? My brain will die if I am ever to make another car trip across the midwest.

My plan is to go Boston, DC, Chicago, De Moines, Denver, ABQ, Tucson, Las Vegas, San Diego and then San Fran. Start and finish points are set in stone, and Chicago I'm seeing friends, but pretty much everything in between is changeable.

I planned it before I got back together with my SO so it will more than likely be subject to change.

Weird, I think berserkfan has one of the sharpest wits on the forum, tbh.

Also, I have the exact opposite issue from this thread. I get uneasy if there's less than five figures in my checking account.
