So how do you feel about Kim Jong Un, the purported leader of North Korea? He's been in the news quite a bit lately.

Nuke is problematic because unless you have FOLLOWUP nukes.. you can't shoot one, and be like.. well i'm all out..

that's when someone will come to your country and just take it... probably China..

What I don't get is.. how crummy North Korea is despite having Slave labor in a Modern society..

I mean... Give me slave labor...

first thing I would do...   Mining... then coal plant, then use that power to refine nuclear fuel...

Then Force evict all people from fertile land..   Then slave labor + mechanized agriculture..

It'd be so easy to move people and efficiently appropriate land given How powerful he is..

Why does Kim epic suck at country building...

He must suck at motivation. Even a slave needs some sort of motivation to have good performance. He should go read some Dilbert for some inspiration.

Slaves don't need Serious motivation (will to live is enough) as long as you keep a steady supply of them... that's the whole point of slaves..

I think what may have happened is too many slaves have died.. and they are lacking human capital, so their slaves are not reproducing quickly enough...  the Upper echelon must be consuming too many resources..  and they're not maintaining their slave population properly..

It wouldn't be about appearance, stability of governance is important, so... it's possible they'd replace him with a double..

and it'd be much easier than replacing a more popular leader, because fewer people actually know the guy.

hahaha.. yea that's the currents speculation.. kim's probably not happy with peace talks because external influence will inevitably lead to the disintegration of his dynastic rule...

I think South Korea is in grave danger

Here's what The Generals are probably planning to strengthen North Korea and maintain power and stability... (not kim j u, the Generals, the guys who are holding him)

They will probably kill Kim J U,  put in a double..

THEN--

Increase importation of technology in trade for narcotics export. (yes, they already have some of this in place, but that would be expanded)

-- realistically, you can get a huge portion of mining and agriculture completed this way, because those technologies are generally not regulated and deemed non threatening..

THEN-- continue strengthening their military industrial complex

THEN--

Once the Generals have stabilized population growth and health..

They'd use Kim J U in name to start a war with South Korea...   Commit genocide

Blitzkreg style...   Fire everything they have @ soeul...

Once Soeul is done..  South Korea is more/less gone, since that's all their eggs in one basket.. (quite literally)

The Americans sure as hell wouldn't get there fast enough...

So....  China will probably step in and shake hands with whoever's currently in charge...

They'd arrest and Trial the FAKE Kim J U for war crimes..

The Generals who were actualllly behind the war, will be fully installed and recognized as the replacement leader..

And that's how they're probably planning to get away with Genocide..    and to Rob South Korea of their economic infrastructure..

The Aggressor always comes out ahead (game theory)...  since South Korea is too damn complacent, it will probably lose this one..

haha... maybe internet radio.. ..

The North Koreans have a very large Cultural problem and a National Identity issue.

As a north-korean, you can't really hold your head high.. and we also no longer live in a world that forgets.

The prejudice against north-koreans will continue among the lower educated population of the world..

The cultural conundrum is most heavily derived from their leadership and brainwashing government..

You can't get away with straight up lying to everyone for 20 years, then change tunes as easily in modernity.

The only way they can get out of that as a nation,  is to scapegoat the current leadership (The Kim Jongs )  and distance themselves from their past...

I don't see an out other than that to establish a new identity for them..

You and I know, the herded masses are innocent and that any and all such prejudice against them is wrong..

But, there are those who will leverage that prejudice in malicious ways to squeeze north-korea for profit.. if they do fully enter the world market..

i'm so glad i wasn't born in north korea
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

-Ray Bradbury
