Not sure if this scissor key can be fixed
« on: Fri, 15 July 2016, 10:52:39 »
Hey guys,

One of my infants broke my Microsoft Wireless 7000 keyboard by ripping off the shift key. The scissor/butterfly (which is it?) thingie has broken and the key will not stick to the plate anymore. This keyboard is quite old but I still love it. I'm pretty sure I have it for almost ten years now and I still use it daily on my living room PC.

Does anyone have a clue on where to get a replacement for the broken part? It would make me a very happy man.
As you can see the little white peg on the left side is missing .. sigh *kids*  :thumb:
Thanks a bunch

What do I search for, or do you mean second hand Wireless 7000's?

There are individual keycaps and stabilization mechanisms for some more common scissor-switch keyboards available. I know this holds for some more common laptops and Logitech's hi-end keyboards (e.g., K800).

Here's the first thing I've found; you can ask the seller for specific parts.
