IBM Headphone Amps
« on: Wed, 03 August 2016, 13:31:54 »
Recently I bought a mini-amp with vacuum tube for my HD700 headphones of Sennheiser.  The stock tube was serviceable but not ideal, so I've been looking at replacement tubes available for a reasonable amount of money, and I came across this:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/GE-6211A-five-star-VINTAGE-SINGLE-TUBE-BRANDED-IBM-252551-long-life-12AT7-12AU7-/400816548372?hash=item5d52872a14:g:BOUAAOSwj0NUe4YB

I'm known in the neighbourhood for my proclivity for IBM keyboards, and now I'm considering installing an IBM tube on my amp.  IBM should really send me a badge or something like that.  :D

So the Vacuum Tube is made by General Electric but branded for use in the older IBM systems?
