Trump - doesn't really need other people to bash him
« on: Sun, 14 August 2016, 08:48:26 »
2007 interview with Wolf Blitzer - old news but still fascinating in light of current events:

BLITZER: The war is hovering over politics right now, as it should -- this is the dominant issue, at least right now, of our time. Give us your assessment. Is there a way out?

TRUMP: The war is a total disaster. It's a catastrophe, nothing less. It is such a shame that this took place. In fact, I gained a lot of respect for our current president's father by the fact that he had the sense not to go into Iraq. He won the war and then said, Let's not go the rest of the way. And he turned out to be right. And Saddam Hussein, whether they liked him or didn't like him, he hated terrorists. He'd shoot and kill terrorists. When terrorists came into his country, which he did control and he did dominate, he would kill terrorists. Now it's a breeding ground for terrorists. So, look, the war is a total catastrophe.

BLITZER: Who do you blame?

TRUMP: Well, there's only one person you can blame, and that's our current president. I mean, obviously Rumsfeld was a disaster, and other people that are giving him advice have been a disaster.

BLITZER: How does the United States get out of this situation? Is there a way out?

TRUMP: You know how they get out? They get out. That's how they get out. Declare victory and leave. Because I'll tell you, this country is just going to get further bogged down. They're in a civil war over there, Wolf. There's nothing that we're going to be able to do with a civil war. They are in a major civil war, and it's going to go to Iran, and it's going to go to other countries. They are in the midst of a major civil war, and there's nothing -- and by the way, we're keeping the lid on, a little bit. But the day we leave anyway, it's all going to blow up.

BLITZER: Thank you very much. Let's talk politics. All right? A lot of people thinking about politics right now. I'm going to mention some names: give me your thoughts right away. Hillary Clinton.

TRUMP: Very talented, very smart. She's a friend of mine, so I'm a little bit prejudiced. She's a very, very capable person and I think she'll probably be the nominee. We'll see, but I think she'll probably be the nominee.

BLITZER: Is she ready to be commander-in-chief?

TRUMP: I think she is. I think she's a very, very brilliant person, and as a senator in New York, she has done a great job. Everybody loves her. She just won an election with a tremendous majority and she really -- she's become very, very popular in New York. And it wasn't easy.

Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”

I love the thing he did with Obama supposedly being the leader of ISIS, cracks me up. I did not think it possible that idiots of this calibre existed, but I'm proven wrong.

The Cheeto Jesus is not an idiot, he is an actor and an entertainer.

The idiots are the people who take him as anything other than the psychopathic "clown genius".

There's absolutely no problem if Trump wins..

Bush Jr was just as silly,  but everything worked out fine, because the people who actually do the work, (everyone else around him)  knows what to do..

You know, except that seemingly endless war that was started... or the domino effect of economic policy decisions that led to the worst US economy of the last 50+ years... Or botched negotiations with DPRK which led to the acceleration of their nuclear weapons program when they dismantled the agreements set during the Clinton administration, kicking out international inspectors and gaining access to the fuel rods they were protecting... or the eventual firing or conviction of several of those "people who actually do the work" by the end of his term... Or his mishandling of the combined power garnered by the AUMF and the Patriot Act leading to the NSA spying on it's own citizens without impunity...

I could go on, but to say "everything worked out fine" is not really an accurate description of what happened.

No, the country didn't implode and yes we're still here to talk about it... but the fallout of that Presidency directly led to many of the most important issues still waiting for resolution in this current election.

In the short term, nothing much will change..

The poor will be poor, the middle will be middle, the rich will be rich

But overall for long term social changes, major destabilization has to occur for power to evolve.

The unjust events which occur under bad management only really accelerates the process of change..

If we seek to live under what is the current status quo,  the elites will rule for another 1000 years.

However,  Give them their room to over-grasp, and the retaliatory response on part of the Populace will be swift and ultimately more just..

//////////// ^^^^  That is long term..

Now,  For Short term..

America needs the rest of the world to be at war as much as possible..

This is the only way the current system can continue to impose economic leverage by being the premiere stable currency..

The War, Terror, and Economic turbulence is the main Engine to driving the need for the American Brand..

If the world was at peace..  Who would buy our guns, who would need our debt, who would make our iphones ?

Each and everyone of us have our own take on our productivity..  But keep in mind, that we are actually all in service// almost slaves to the system..

While it is my belief that the causes are matters of ideology rather than material,  The fact that the system currently RUNS is an importance which should not be discounted, HOWEVER unfair and vulgar it may seem.

Maybe Bush Jr was an idiot. Many people who knew him do claim that he was very intelligent, just not very good with words.

Anyway, Bush Jr was chosen by an established clique in the Republican party to be their front man and run for president. The clique already had their agenda to invade Iraq and do other things.
Bush Jr had good properties for a front-man: a long political background in the party, dependable, a man with principles, etc. - the anti-thesis of Trump.
Who in the right mind would have chosen Trump to be their front-man? No, with all the controversies surrounding the man, I think that even if he would get elected, it would be difficult for him to find good people who really want to work with him and are not wackier than Trump is.
I believe more in a situation similar to Italy eight years ago, where prime minister Berlusconi chose a former topless model to be the minister in charge of gender equality...
