Wow $25 Rosewill keyboard today..

that's an insanely good deal..


Even for switch harvesters..



Tp4 ordered one,   Will keep ya'll posted on the soldering quality when getz the board.. 



IMHO,  mxblack is fine for everything except extended typing..  I'mma use it in the basement..



This is not a hot dealz thread,  Will be discussing soldering quality of $25 once the board arrives..

That appears to be a solid deal for anyone that likes MX-Black switches... the rosewill keyboards are pretty nice, even though the Rosewill Logo is pretty painful ..but the V2 at least has it in black rather than the massive white logo on the V1..

I have a Rosewill RK9000V1 (mx-red) I got on some crazy super combo deal for $25 w/ a Pentium D (for some insane reason..) with no rebates involved.     I never have taken my V1 apart as I had no reason to  which is nice because reports of broken USB connectors seemed to be common with that.. In my case the connector is fine and seems pretty solid.     I haven't honestly used the board for awhile as I decided I was more interested in the TKL form factor for the time being.   

When I was using the rosewill (used it for ~1yr I guess as my main keyboard) I had no complaints ... keycaps that come w/ it a laser printed and are nicer certainly than the garbage one's that came with my Filco MT2 TKL.. concerns about the USB port aside the RK9000 feels similar to the filco in weight and sturdiness...

I looked at a couple reviews of the V2 and it sounds like Rosewill didn't screw anything up with the V2 mostly improving the strength of the USB port..   for $25 after the rebate this should be a great keyboard ...

Rosewill used to sell a version of the RK9000 ("V0?") that was only MX Blue's and had a hardwired cable. No problems.

Then they started selling the "V1" with a detachable hub and that USB connector had serious problems.

Then they said "oh we improved it - here's the "V2": It still has USB connector problems.

The Rosewill RK9000 V1/V2 are the mascots of why detachable cables suck.

The USB issue with the V1 is well known,  but it's a simple fix for any veterans of geekhack..

It's a costar board.. so we all know what to expect..

The v2, I don't know if it's costar, Haven't read anything..  shall see..


But looking at the review    atarione is talking about,   the USB port shouldn't be an issue in the v2, because it's been reinforced..


Overall,  not worried about usb, as long as it's costar..     now they have the rk9100,  that thing looks like one of those piece of crap monoprice boards with the shoddy soldering..   that one is also on sale with a $50 for 29.99 after rebate..    Definitely should not buy that one.
