I finished my entire weekly quota before lunch on Tuesday. I just took a 45 minute nap, smoked a cigg, browsed Reddit, beat Sonic 1 via emulator, and now I'm sitting here watching the clock to hit lunch time. The day's not even half over and it's only Wednesday.

I ****ing hate this and wish I were dead sometimes. What a complete and total waste of my time.

and therein lies the crux of my dispassion for this job - I'm already at the top for my department and there is zero incentive to make any effort at all since my efforts go unnoticed and there is no room for growth. so without that carrot on a stick, no matter how trivial, I simply do not care.... at all about the quality or quantity of work I do. there's literally no reason to do more or put forth any effort.

You can quit your job and move to southern AZ. You can hire on with my company and I can build you up into a network installation tech, or maybe a fiber splicer. Maybe security and access controls is more your speed. You could work your way up to a field supervisor or even a project manager.

So, depending on your skill set you can uproot your whole life for a starting wage of... I think I can get you $14-$15hr.

You can start out by working construction outside in triple digit heat for a good half of the year. Don't worry though, we provide plenty of bottled ice water.

If you know what you're doing on the equipment side, we do need another competent IT person for programming switches and security/access controls. From here if you manage to have all your office related work done, like it sounds like you do now, you could go to the field and do installation work. Rarely a day with nothing to do.

Best decision of my life.

I learned so much from the military.

Leadership, fellowship, independence, responsibility, hard work, etc.

On top of that, got real world experience and a free education.
