Well. I commissioned an A87 from him at the end of 2014. He kept me sparsely updated until November '15 in which he said I would likely have it by the end of the year. I attempted to reconnect with him in February '16 and have had no contact since. If anything ever shows up it would be a miracle to me.
From my brief translated interaction with Apollos I understand that he underwent a great amount of depression and stress. This caused him to take an extended break from board making/tuning. He told me he was in a much better place and back in full swing on the keyboard game. Unfortunately this is immediately before he went dark from our emails.
This is a prime example of the #1 rule of GH: caveat emptor. Shooting money to someone you've never met can be a dice roll. Whether intentional or not, not receiving goods and services is always a constant risk. There are not enough tangible repercussions to assure it won't happen, so you need to roll with the punches.
I hope Apollos is doing well and has a fairly mild time with his tour of duty. Even if I never get anything physical from our interaction, he has been a pleasure to talk shop with. Hes a great guy, and I can't put any blame on him without knowing what his situation truly is.
