Haul of a lifetime
« on: Tue, 11 April 2017, 08:24:30 »
It's all in a day's work!  ;D :D :-*

This will take me a good while to process...

The switch in the last picture, is that a super-vintage MX (no logo either)?

I'm sooo lucky (and happy)!

Thanks, I'd only ever seen the white variety before. So the TA board is really only good for the keycaps - IF I can ever get them clean...

You might look into getting an ultrasonic cleaner.

Should definitely be worth it with all the cleaning I'm going to have to do!

So are those olivetti keycaps dyesub?

Nice! They're all ISO, I notice—so you're in Yerp?

The real question is: what are your plans for all of these?

@JoeyQ: I believe the blue legend TA caps are dyesub, yes. They're not duble-shot at any rate. Is there any way of telling 100% without damaging a keycap?

Yes, being in Germany certainly helps with yummy Cherry finds!

As for what I'll do with them - I don't care for IBMs very much so will just sell those as they are. Other than that, I'm thinking of buying an ultrasonic cleaner and giving them all a nice clean, harvesting some caps for my other boards and again selling or trading a few - still looking for a nice blue Alps board...

Well they aren't pad printed so if they also aren't double shot they must be dyesub. Someone else may be able to give more solid answer but based on the given information I think they have to be dyesub.

From the attic of a computer store going into liquidation. Owner must have made his last keystroke a few weeks back. Do you think keyboards can be cursed?  ;)

Oh wow incredible haul!

Those blue dyesubs are really precious, let me know if you want to sell them. I would love to get a chance to make an offer.

Well there surely would fit some souls into these Model Ms!

Btw could you check their dates of production? Maybe you got a birthday board for someone  :)

I think I have a 1391401  *label*  dated 10 April, can't remember the year, probably '90-'91, PM me if you are interested in a trade.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."
