How much work do you miss - PTO guidelines
« on: Mon, 08 May 2017, 14:18:02 »
How many sick/personal days do you take off of work? How many of those are you actually sick? What would you consider too much PTO?

25%-30% is  reasonable..

If you got a doctor's note, 100% is fine..

If your HR person is an older age 35+ female,   it's all fine as long as your facial features are neonatal..    if you're ugly,  forget about it..

If the HR person who handles your case is a guy,  It's going to be no-nonsense..  don't go over 25-30% period..

I take a personal day once a month. I don't get sick very often, but sometimes I just don't feel like going into work. I take it off so I can mentally recharge.

I think anything more than one day a month is stretching it into 'too much' territory.

We don't get sick or personal days. I've never missed a scheduled day of work in over 7 years.

well,, this is good in terms of mental fortitude..

But remember those  postars from WWII  about staying home when sick..   because if you didn't stay home,  You can cost us a Tank, by spreading disease around...

And we need all the Tanks..

I've taken 2 sick days at my current employer where I've been for almost 5 1/2 years, and at my previous employer I took 2 or 3 over 8 years, but those were not paid.

I take a couple of personal days a month, so I don't actually use my sick leave unless I'm actually sick. I try to be pretty honest about it because of how flexible they are when I have to duck out early, need to come in late, or take a personal day.

Personal days really, really help me from getting burned out.

I do the same thing, usually the 3rd Friday every month I take a long weekend. Looking over my sheets it seems a little excessive, but honestly I'd have blown my brains out by now without them.

It's not always a choice for some .. hahahahahahahhaha

In fact,  these acts are almost always carried out because of perceived hopelessness.

I'd probably jump off something really high up. Always been a secret adrenaline fan, I think that last big rush would be a fun way to go.

Drugs are lame because you just drift off and never wake up, you miss your final moments. Cutting is gross and takes too long. And a gun is just to... abrupt and uninspired.

Hanging would do in a pinch as well, although it's not as grand as a big leap.
