Hello forum!
After contracting tendinitis in my right hand a few days ago, I decided to buy an ergonomic keyboard. I shopped around until I found one that really got me excited: the Kinesis Advantage. I didn't want to pay 400 dollars for one, so I bought mine on Craigslist for about 120$!
While shopping for keyboards I became a sort of keyboard-phile and absorbed way to much information so I figured - hey! - I should join the forum. There's just so many questions that I have about keyboard designs and modifications.
I'm rocking cherry browns right now. I already opened up my Kinesis Advantage and put washers on the screws beneath the thumb keys in order to make them a bit lower, however there are so many more modifications I want to perform on this beast (I've named her Pleb'sBane). The fact that she's a used keyboard has removed all my inhibitions as far as modifications go, and my next steps are to:
add O rings to lower the travel and prevent harsh bottoming out.
fix key wobble on the thumb keys
find some suitable replacement pads for the wrists
split it in half so that I can tent
I've got quite an adventure ahead of me! And I invite you all to join me in my epic quest for digital euphoria.
