Tp4 am so sick of recharging everyday..

As much as one appreciates the cordless-ability to being human..

Long-Run,  Prefer the matrix layout much more..


Instead of simulating human society though,  It should just be like Steam..


But of course it should also have League of Legend, Starcraft and Hearthstone..

Every once in a while, you get a new game,  and then there's the summer/winter sales that should also be simulated.

Surely running a couple of game servers is nothing for the Matrix and its many Jigaherz.


Plug me in.. I will be content.. !!

I don't remember the details of the virtual world to know where I stand on this - was there (e.g.) homelessness, disease and addiction in the virtual world or was everyone relatively safe and happy?  And back in the real world did the machines utilise one continent and leave the rest for wildlife?  I have a feeling they waited too long and the humans had already destroyed it...

I don't remember the details of the virtual world to know where I stand on this - was there (e.g.) homelessness, disease and addiction in the virtual world or was everyone relatively safe and happy?  And back in the real world did the machines utilise one continent and leave the rest for wildlife?  I have a feeling they waited too long and the humans had already destroyed it...

Well, there's no reason to analyze the "Fiction" universe too deeply, because they never took the time to iron out all the loopholes and plot problems.

Overall, I'm just talking about the main theme, relative to real-humans.

Because the bulk of Life, is a choir.. brushing teeth, comb hair, hair spray, look super kewl, drive to wurk..

SO being plugged into an integrated system which relieves our minds of the necessary but non-advancing aspects of animal life  would accelerate our progress towards Borg society..


Ultimately, Borg is what we want, but during the transition, we'll probably have mostly steamOS.. and hopefully the blizzard titles and LOL.

You've gone too abstract, I struggle to imagine how I would feel relieved of such 'worries' without knowing what possible options there are.  Assuming a fake utopia is what we get plugged into it would be tempting, but I wonder who's in charge of breeding replacements and what happens if they breed two genetically impect people to create monsters - does their 'plugged in' self resemble their real self as in the film?  If so they would be disabled and it wouldn't be a utopia

Well, you're still looking at it from a very "animal "  lens..

It's like imagining if Robot World would have streets and cars and screwdrivers.

They probably wouldn't have any of those things..


Just as once the human is plugged into the virtual system, we might not physically have hands in our non-virtual afk body..


It'd most likely just be the brain, and a blob of the (fictional) most power efficient body parts that generate electricity.

I'm a simple, physical, kinda guy but as I understand it (again, going by the film as there's no other option available) the brain is connected to to fake self as well as the virtual one, so physical form must follow or confusion would happen.  Unless the brain was plugged in while it was still a useless baby brain that knew nothing about anything...

Bio-CPU are the pinnacle of energy efficiency, so it's possible that  ONCE the solar-adaptation happens,  the replacement humans bred would be Brain only.


In this system, it's likely that our brains would be modified with mid-brain and fore-brain only, because the stem's not terribly necessary as it's mostly autonomic body functions, which would be useless..


They'd probably also increase the size of the bred-brains,  They'd probably splice our dna with Whales, so we'd have whale sized brains, but with human proportion and arrangements of key areas.

I imagine they would try to reduce the size, for efficiency purposes. Of course I also imagine that the world as we know it has been obliterated and that any robot/lifeform that does survive is underground/under water and has a lack of space.

Give me a detailed practical scenario with 10 variables and I'll run mental simulations all day and come up with three good combos, but I need to know the rules.  Here there are no base rules and no target outcome with many interrelated things between the two.  At some point you have to accept things aren't your strengths and if improving those areas is not pleasurable you cna move on and work on something hat is - this is one way to make living in the real world less-bad, and if it was enough less-bad perhaps an alternate reality would not be desirable...

It's just that, to lose oneself in a (tangible - less- bad) in the current society is to accept that the aim of the work-party one's assigned to is indeed working towards a greater goal, rather than creating further inequity..



I suppose goal-wise, we're all aware enough of what needs to be done.

But the critical component missing is the method for which we all AGREE to DO IT..

This agreement is not helped by capitalist organization, because where there's disparity in wealth , we spend more time disagreeing than working the problem..
