after ready on it that is just lenovo at its finest, getting every last cent they can...

but we lose 15% FPS just from single channel alone.  That's a crippling waste of computing potential.

Intel does not benefit that much from dual channel memory as AMD does. I'd say that in that computer you posted any heavy game will be crippled by the thermals of the machine before you ran out of ram heavily. And the processor or the graphics card are nothing to be blown with.

Calling that computer gaming it's a marketing gimmick cause it has it's discrete gpu, but I would never recommend something like that for games.
They have the Legion branch for gaming laptots.

intel is not as memory dependent as AMD but we are talking half speed here on AMD a 10% increase in speed relate to pretty much a 10% performance boos on ryzen up to 4GHz, intel will see very minimal differences from 3200 to 4000, but dual channel is a 100% difference in speed (1 channel at 4000MHz will access at 4000MHz, 2 channels at 4000 will make it equivalent to 8000MHz) so will make a tiny difference

The case of single channel is the same across either CPU, you lose 15% of frame rates.

a 4GB stick of ram cost about as much as a happy meal, so, there's really no good reason it's come to this.

Even 2x2gb would be better than 1x4gb

in the case of 4 GB i would rather see 1*4GB with a 2nd slot free for upgrade but above that yeah 2 sticks is best.

I think alot of places are finally putting an end to that. because they probably have an internal stat somewhere that these sticks end up in landfills, and that's a huge waste of resources.
