Trailerparks

Thoughts ?

Anybody ever think about moving to a trailerpark ?

The TV shows make it seem like camping 24/7. But there's a shower, and tv, and internet, so it's good all the time.

I could certainly live in a "trailer" in a pleasant setting out in the country, but the trailer park itself would probably be a problem.

yeah i thought about it, and then really thought about it, yeah it is cheap but it is unpractical to all hell you get no insulation so really hot in the summer and cold in the winter, 4 wheels as a foundation is not the strongest, you have no space to live and septic tank to empty often. and if you want to have a bit more space and have a decent insulation and accommodation, well a house was cheaper here.
so i guess that close to big cities it may make a bit more sense, but you really need to weight the good and bad of it.

Are we talking about RV type trailers or prebuilt houses? Because both are nice, but there's a lot of predatory stuff in the industry. (like selling the house without the land, and forcing poor people to keep renting even after they've paid the mortgage.)

Don't know about the US, but here in Germany the biggest problem with living in a trailer park would be the neighbours. And winter of course.

Trailer Park Boys taught me that I am not cut out for the trailer life.

You are most likely to find them in "retirement" scenarios such as Florida.

Thought about it once but not even nearly enough space for all my stuff. Trailers are not conducive to collections and displays.
Maybe a planted double wide, but then why not just get a home or apartment for far less.

are you just proving my point?
i bought my house (120 square habitable meters + 2 car garage + 100 square meters of storage space) for 70keuros, a good trailer when i checked was in the 120keuros, and that is not with a space to put it. although i am not in a big city, so that may go the other way then, i dunno.

I've thought about it as a last hurrah before nursing home option but I'd probably be better off downsizing to a small house really.

The place I'm in now has a lot of garden I have little to no interesting in keeping up but maybe I can seed bomb it and just let it go wild when I'm older.

My dad has a mobile home near Skegness just to have a UK address (he mainly lives in France). I visited it last year and it was ****.
