What do ya got?

I type 110 average, special layout

So, here's what I got so far

Please don't mention those crummy games, where you don't actually get to type all that much.

Typing of the Dead - good fun, but very loose rules and accuracy

Typeracer - good rules, bland and tasteless material, often

Typrx - good rules, also bland and tasteless material, poorly programed site, lots of buttons don't work, a least in FF

10 fast fingers test
- too short, 1 min bursts only

If I remember right it had a memory leak in Firefox. It runs fine on Chrome with no leaks.

The only problem with ztype is you can't warp to a hard level immediately.  Working through the first 20 or so is really tedious.

Looks like he added "Expert mode" which essentially does just that. Starts you out on the hard levels.

Well, there is Lyric Typing (or TypingMania as it's called now).
It's patterned off those rhythm games, but you type the lyrics of the song rather than anything else.
All the songs are from Japanese anime though, so most of the lyrics are in japanese though there are english lyrics in some of them.

It's definitely looks nice though, and some songs actually come with full video to go along with them.

On the other hand, z-type is awesome, at higher levels though, there is so much stuff all the words get clumped up so it's hard to pick out ones, especially the big ones that shoot those waves of stuff at you.

This.  Capitals and spaces don't matter.  The drills like accuracy are useful though, and more interesting than Typeracer's "Instant Death" mode.

What's your special layout?

capslock-> backspace
colon -> r-rshift

some other stuff are switched around also, but those two are the pivotal changes,   because you no longer have to make any wrist turns, to type capitals, AND you right hand no longer has to travel more than 2cm (right) to reach any key.

Thank you!

I really liked the Japanese typing karaoke! Typemania, nar posted.

the japanese songs are impossible unless you're japanese...  this game is racist.
