Quality of Leopold FC500RT/AB vs. Das Keyboard 3

I have a Das Keyboard II that I'm quite happy with but I'm planning on picking up a new keyboard for work. Can anybody compare the quality of the Das Keyboard Model S Professional vs the Leopold FC500RT/AB? Any particular reason I should go with one or the other?

DAS is glossy and comes with ugly stock keycaps.
Leopold 500 spacebar is not compatible with ANYTHING so group buys are kind of a pain.

Lookswise I think the white (pretty much beige) Leopold is way nicer. I'm not into the sci-fi/futuristic look though.

I think it comes down to which ever one you like the look of more.

They're both well constructed, solid keyboards.  I don't think you'll find much to distinguish them on quality.  I think it comes down to price and personal preferences (do you like the look, features etc.?).

I've currently got the das keyboard with brows but I was going to sell it soon for a leopold with red which is the best I've seen so far. What exactly do the stabilizers you mentioned do and how is one better than the other? This is something I'm currently overlooking because I don't know anything about it. It might lead to me finding a better keyboard.

Costar**

but yea, the cherry stabilizers are difficult to lubricate properly. if it's plate mounted.

I like the Cherry stabilizers. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't find them any stiffer than the costar type. I think they are less wobbly too. They can be lubed with silicon grease on a pin. Just my 2¢.
i have seen unix admins with john deere trucker hats, and even seen a man in a nascar shirt correct a passerby's klingon.

the big keys are quite a bit stiffer imo, which im not real happy with myself (I own a Leo TKL in red), i would wait a while for the right cherry red board, in short Id wait for the Filco's that are going to be released.

How is the das w/ blue switches for gaming?   does it seem like a well rounded keyboard?  I am looking at getting one with red switches as I hear that is better for gaming on the PC..  I also run a business from home and the typing aspect is important as well.   So many choices not sure what i want.

Blues poses some troubles to a few user when gaming because you can't doubletap. In order to press the key twice, you need to release it until almost all the way up or the key isn't registered. But on the other end, every gamer having a Blackwidow has blues. But you can also order a Das with browns if you want (the silent model).

DAS is a very solid model, but a lot of people don't like the glossy finish. And the size of the board (TKL <3).

Yeah, well considering that cherry MX's come back up so fast, double tapping isnt that much of an issue ... Even on game that really extensively on double tapping Q4, UT, it dont pose that much of a problem. You might want to avoid them if you plan on using your computer as an xbox or a PS3, but if it isnt the case, blues are excellent switches ... The tactile feedback that they have isnt to be found on any other kind of switch ....
