Wow, I didn't even know monoprice sold monitors and they have two 16:10 30"ers. Does anyone own any of these?

They're basically like the Korean panels on eBay. Just rebranded under the monoprice name.

At this price I'd buy it from them over eBay because they'd probably have better customer service and actually honor their warrenties.

Sure, but Monoprice does not mess around when it comes to replacing things warranty wise. Also, I'm aware of the 16:9 Korean panels, but do you have a link the 16:10 ones?

Edit - The Yamakasi ones?

Oops, I didn't see you said 16:10 there.
The yamakasi has sparta/leonidas although I've never looked to check the difference. I think crossover has one too.

here you go
yamakasi
crossover This has a typo though, says 16:9 but also says 2560x1600

I'm obsessing about these things and have been for around 3 weeks. Now I have the money and know that it would be better put somewhere else....plus my fiance would kill me.

It's k.  I'm saving for a ring myself but I'm gonna pull the trigger on 2 of these for work after the mass drop hits and I can compare prices between this, mass drop, ebay, and others. haha

This is disappointing. I work on a lot of apple computers, and whenever I see a 27" iMac or new apple thunderbolt display, I notice the beautiful colours, which are completely ruined by the flicker (from the backlight, I take it). I'll have to stick to my 85Hz CRT's until then. It doesn't give me a headache, but it is noticeable and annoying.

I have heard that some of the newer ones don't have the flicker issue that the apple cinema displays have, but I'd have to have some good evidence for this before I buy.

The worst problem with the iMac is that because the monitor desyncs slightly over time or on resume you have to either fully reboot or run a custom program to turn the monitor ON and OFF...
