looking for a decent 40-60 usd mouse -solved-

things i want:

-minimal or no flashy lights
-made for righthand use
-not a gross amount of macro buttons
-comfort
-durability
-control
-wired

any suggestions?

Yeah, but Spawn may not be available depending on location(CM EU pulled the spawn after bad PR), and the title typo suggested 40-0, so I suggested the Xornet as that is the cheaper option.

Other than the Xornet, the G400 might fit the bill.

Not really up to date on US prices, since mice are quite a bit more expensive here.

spawn is the exact same mouse as the logitech g400 with the perfect 0-acceleration sensor. and angle snapping line correction algorithm..  calibration for 1:1 is actually possible.

also, the "new" g400-s is ugly as crap... wtf were they thinking....

spawn still looks pretty cool.


If someone prefers the g400-s, they should get a used mx 5xx mouse and use the mouse cover from there..

I'm pretty sure the g400-s also doesn't use full omrons either.. whereas mx518 510 etc etc all had full omron.

I noticed it is an optical mouse. Is there much difference between optical and laser?

Not much, but most laser sensors used have inherent acceleration or some other flaw, like the PTE z-axis issue, so most people prefer optical since they are usually less flawed.

I personally have Sanyo Eneloop's, and the battery life on the G602 is insane

It's pretty much the only mouse most people will ever need, it has all the useful features and is close to perfect IMO.

Always get Sanyo Eneloop's when using wireless mice.  Not only do they last but recharging them is relatively quick compared to most on board batt's.

The G602 is quite a good choice, wireless that doesn't need to be charged every day like the G700S  .

Always get Sanyo Eneloop's when using wireless mice.  Not only do they last but recharging them is relatively quick compared to most on board batt's.

The G602 is quite a good choice, wireless that doesn't need to be charged every day like the G700S  .

The fact that the G700s lasts only 8-10 hours of real use makes it a joke IMO.

They had such a good mouse, yet they couldn't afford to give it 2x AA battery slots?

It has one of the best physical designs & buttons layouts along with features, yet they cripple it's wireless which is what it's all about.

They should just make a G701 and take the G700s and strip out the wireless feature and put in a nice braided cable and make it a good wired mouse.

Cause honestly, there is nothing wrong with that mouse, it just has a seriously gimped single AA battery slot and crappy battery life to boot.

Good choice according to those that currently are using it.  I have never purchased it as of yet but due to the low price - I figured why not join the crowd  .

But, in all seriousness. It's really comfy, has nice build quality( Omron switches, avago 8200 DPI sensor), not too flashy, good driver and adjustment software and might be within your budget. I got it for £39.99. It *is* a bit on the smaller side, however. Or it could be my larger-than-an-iPad hands. xD

I bought a SteelSeries Ikari Laser NIB on eBay for 40$ shipped. I was a Logitech guy but after trying it at a friend's house I can say it is the most comfortable mouse I've ever tried.

I'd suggest looking into it, maybe you'll get lucky like I did. Otherwise maybe you can consider this 42$ Ikari Optical?
