Folks from Asia: What are considered "healthy" options at street food stalls?

I don't know why [I'm sick as a dog] - but I've been watching Asian street food porn on youtube.  Everything appears to be deep fried and/or coated in oil/salt.

Just out of curiosity for those who frequent these food stalls what are considered some "healthy" options?  (Is this a crazy notion?)

I'm in 'Merica.  I guess I'm just seeking any sort of dish as an idea of what passes for healthy street food anywhere in Asia.

I don't live in asia, but for me, all street food is unhealthy. Many vendors try to cut cost by using sketch ingredients. Most of the food that I ate from stalls were either sugary or fat/fried.

My cousin used to eat street food in China almost every night...high cholesterol in his low 30's.

Night markets are fun as a tourist though.

In the videos some stalls have green leafy vegetables on a shelf - but the food they cook doesn't use any of them.

^This. Just remember theres a reason why theyre sold on the street. Not an option for healthy eating but definitely a tasty treat once or twice a month.

I live in Asia and I don't go for street food vendor because as you pointed out, they are fried and js unhealthy especially some reuse the cooking oil.

I don't look at street food the same way after watching this video lol

There's no such thing as Healthy chinese food imho..  They use a profuse amount of salt..

As far as street stalls go..   I suppose Fish meatballs are the least harmful.. they usually come in soup.. but of course you can get um fried..

The thing that came to mind is Congee (rice porridge) maybe with some vegetables/fish added - but have yet to see anyone selling that.

the Congee isn't as popular because fried foods are significantly more enticing and sells better..

If you want fresh food-stall foods.. just go have dimsum.. it's essssentially the same thing..

I always assumed one of the main attractions of going to China were the street food stalls. In India they were amazing, I **** for like two months straight, but they tasted great! The food, not my ****.

Huh, I normally hear even from some Asians about how cheap street food is compared to <insert cheap local food here>. This is the part they seem to be excluding from the comparison.
