Firefox. adblock plus doesnt work for **** on chrome and IE.

yup... that's really the only reason I use firefox...  if there was another adblocker that's as effective as the firefox plugin.. I'd totally switch back to internet explorer....  IE is so much faster than Firefox.. (at least it FEELS faster) with the pre fetching i think...
Adblock works fine on Chrome for me. There are just too many plugins on Firefox that I go overboard and download everything, so it just turns super slow. Chrome feels so much faster.

I had the same problem with firefox until I turned off intel speed step..  I really don't care if it kills my CPU in half the time...  The computer is so much more responsive..

you can also turn off power states on AMD cppu if you're on a desktop..

What program do you use to access Geekhack.org? I used to use MSIE5,  but now I use IE6.

Sorry, but I just had to.  I don't hate IE6 as much as Microsoft does.  I personally use Firefox, but it has been having performance issues lately.  I will probably switch to Chrome but I will consider Opera or IE11.

My other half somehow ended up with the Torch Web Browser installed on her computer.

Anyone heard of it before?

Anyone used it??

Yes, why is that women seem to find it so attractive to use?    My mrs seems transfixed with using it as well yet it's only a slightly skinned Chrome-based browser.

This maybe the future of browsers  .....who knows, although I like the Torrent feature that's inbuilt within the app, nice.

Being able to store all your bookmarks and whatnot in the cloud is just too awesome. Addons are handy and it's super fast.

I actually quite enjoy the most recent version of IE. I switch between it and PaleMoon.

Pale Moon is a firefox-based browser that was basically designed to fix all the issues I have with Firefox (unnecessary bloat). It works with most of Firefox's plugins and has served me very well. So far in two weeks of use I have not had any memory leaks, which is fantastic.

I prefer to keep my horsepr0n for myself, thus Firefox w/ FF Sync on my own server, because it supports client-side encryption.

She claimed she didn't install it, and was quite happy for me to uninstall it (now she is back to Chrome or Firefox - some sites don't work in one or the other).

You're lucky, you have a woman who is comfortable with you installing/uninstalling stuff on her PC, mine won't let me go anywhere near her laptop but that could be due to other factors  ;) .

Maybe that's because all the hitmen are using web sites that only work with IE6.

Doesn't matter what version of browser you use you'll get exploits of one version or another.  Just couple what ever browser you're using with BitDefender and you'll be fine  :thumb: .

IE6 hasn't had any updates since over 5 years ago. It may as well be wide open, regardless of what you pair it with.

What in particular?

I'm glad that they finally fixed the scroll down button overlapping the window resize control in the bottom right corner!

Why?  You are on an Apple machine, so where is Safari?  Stick with what Jobsie had supplied you with, before wasting time on other browsers which maybe far worse.

Safari is too much of a memory hog, plus I am still on Snow Leopard and that Safari is a few versions behind.

Besides, that would be like telling all Windows users to stick with what Gatesy or Ballsy gave them :))
