Any other players around here? I've played since I was maybe 6 or 7, but only started playing competitively a few months ago. Feel free to discuss whatever that's chess related, like how stupidly overused e4 is as the first move.

I play chess at lunchtimes with friends in school but I'm really bad.

I played chess at high level when I was younger, now I suck.

I usually bait my queen then kill with bishops. Fun strategy.

I've never felt confident enough to lose my queen unless I'm checkmating next move. In the opening, it seems a bit odd.

I usually just leave it open, and then my opponent is like "Bishop for queen haha!"

then 5 turns later they lose.

I'm interested in how that works. Do you have a notated game employing that strategy?

Probably not. I mostly just play with my buddies when we're bored.

I play from time to time. Not much time for that though. I think I was just average, now I am not sure. We may even try to play using the blog with a threat per match. Or go to one of the well known chess sites.

I played on the team in high school, and played a lot in my free time then too.  Haven't played much in the last 5 years though, but I may be picking it up again soon.

Played at a National level when younger, now I'm absolutely abysmal at the game haha.

I never moved on from checkers, never understood chess, too many options.
