eames executive chair whoa
« on: Wed, 11 June 2014, 02:16:57 »
I went from the aeron to the embody to the eames executive. the eames is not exactly a ergonomic task chair. however there is apparently no substitute for a good 'ol 4" of cushion. it does have a serious problem though. I have to try not to fall asleep while I am working! this thing is serious. consider it an investment. I did.

I tried several Herman Miller chairs but the reason I'm sticking with my (kinda old now) Aeron is because of the pellicle mesh: I simply don't sweat in my Aeron.  It's one of the rare chair in which I don't sweat. The Mira felt great too but I don't like its look very much.

Glad it works for you and congrats on a very nice looking chair!

Did you get the leather chair or the fabric one? I'm not sure how much if I'd buy another leather chair. My old one was nice but it was too hot.

cloth. I figured the leather will sweat a lot. leather would have looked a lot nicer. I do not sweat or get warm in it. after 10 hours a day for about six weeks already. on the other hand it is 70f in here.

i do have to note also i went from a leather to a mesh chair cause i was sweating a lot in my leather chair.

However the downside to my mesh chair is the mesh cushion would dig into my thighs if im wearing like shorts or something.
I dunno  if I should go back to leather or not =/

So jealous. The Embody is just a ****ing awesome looking chair.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

The Eames executive is nice for a conference room, but not great as a desk chair.  Also it's too hot for sitting more than 1 hour, if you get the leather version.  Also the styling of the Eames executive is a little too retro.  1950's Time-Life building.

i sit 10 hours a day. mine is blue messenger fabric. it feels great. the embody is kind of small. the aeron digs into me. had both for a long time.
i mainly was attracted to the eames because it reminded me of the interior of my '72 buick i once had. i was actually cool then. the cloth does not get hot on me but i imagine the leather does. which is why i got the cloth. anyways i am happy with it. good thing because that would have been a costly mistake.

to speak of it's quality. you know about cats and curiosity? he thought it was his new scratching post. I screamed at him. no damage that I can see. he has nails. sharp ones. that is some sturdy fabric right there. please don't get on the cat thing. chair goes before he does around here. so I think I can at least certify this chair kitty proof. however I am going to do my best to not allow him another attempt!

This is exactly the chair I've been looking at over the Herman Miller and Human Scale. I hear the Eames is far more comfortable, plus it looks like the captain's chair on a starship!

A lazyboy shouldn't really be compared to an ergonomic chair. Clearly a highly cushioned couch chair is going to be more comfy than sitting with good posture.

perhaps I will be sorry in the long run who knows. it is far more comfortable than the aeron and embody. true, it is basically a lazy boy but perhaps better quality. I guess it is a "lazy executive" chair.
