“This isn’t the same Trump that got elected in 2016, he’s worse.”
“Something snapped in this guy — for real — when he lost in 2020,” Biden said, suggesting the former president was “unhinged” and was the driving force behind a mob of his supporters overrunning the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021."
“He can’t accept the fact that he lost, it’s literally driving him crazy,” Biden said.
He added that the former president “wants to terminate the Constitution” and “says if he loses there will be a bloodbath in America.”

Interesting article. Thanks for bringing it to the surface. I don't have time now to comment on its contents now but hope to soon. As usual, Sullivan is brilliant and at least partly right.

I've said it many times before..

All forms of government are inherently GOOD and well-meaning.

It is the PEOPLE who are incompatibly flawed..

Most men barely have the composure and discipline to govern themselves ..  Is it any surprise that we've had no luck attempting lofty-ideals.

All the educated people of this world understand what is virtuous,  but when it comes to doing the right thing,  their short sightedness predominantly prevails..

Will there be food for me tomorrow..   Is the question they ask..

The trouble is,  men are commonly unaware of how little food they need.  This is greed..

Greed has certainly been a necessary component of survival in the wild,  but in the modern world it only creates inequality, inequality breeds descent, and here we are..

We've long discovered self-control..  but it has never been mastered, because our biology is at odds with our dominance of the earthly realm.

We were designed for an immediately violent world. One in which dangers will kill us in the short span of our own lives.

These fears overshadow any concerns of the distant future.  The lens of our perception focuses only on the now.

Our most pressing limitation to overcome is human nature itself.

It is not natural disasters, it is not the economy, it is our conviction that needs to be rectified..

There is no guilt or fault in our trend.

We are what we are, this is just how it has worked out..

But in that we are alive, we are charged simply to live.

Life for analysis may be an accident, but it is not a choice.

And so It has not a purpose..  There is only the mission, which is to KEEP LIVING.

This JUNCTION to life is where man is at..

We've achieved more/less maximum natural lifespan.

Under developed-nation conditions, Our innate equipment functions for its maximum designed period..

The scope of our desires is what needs expansion beyond the concept of retirement.

Retirement thinking is the same as tyranny, because it is the maximization of assets at the end of play.

This fundamentally offsets the productivity of youth.

Those who are put in charge of enormous resources would naturally be ill-equipped to handle such matters because they've just died.

If their mindset is conceived under the design of the personal empire, how then could his living followers choose anything better for themselves..

I think you killed the thread after your second post pretty much.

The  "descent" / "dissent"  typo was pretty clever, though.
Too bad he didn't actually read the article.
