3D printers

I'm about to buy a Form 1+

The -living-3dp-thread seems pretty slow on the response..

So, just hoping to get some more opinions here..

I need as much precision as possible.. and I don't have $100,000...

For precision you are looking in the right place, just know that the form 1 will require a great deal of cleanup because it prints using vertical supports on all parts. The ultimaker v1 is also a good option, has resolution up to 20 microns which is impressive :thumb:

Yea I'm actually confused about that

People are saying the Form 1+ is more precise because of the laser..

but then the ultimaker 2 has the 20micron number vs  the 25 micron number from Form 1+

Yeah the difference is that in order to get 20 micron from an ultimaker you would need to drop the speed of the printer really low where as the laser can operate rather quickly. If I was going to purchase a printer it would be the ultimaker 2. It's quiet, accurate, and has a large build volume.

I see that the Chn made 4axis CNC machines are only $1500...  but I can't find precision numbers..

I might get one of those instead if precision is good.. LOL.. crap  I was all set to get the Form 1+

It depends on if i get the printer..  Since the cnc machine is much cheaper.. I'm having second thoughts..
