Pretty much.

You can technically get a steam machine now. All these manufactures already are selling these machines just without the steam os and controller.

You can get the controller later and the steamos will have to be installed seperately.

I think things like the Bolt-2 looks really good..

But I need harddrive bays lots of harddrive bays..

I can't get enough harddrive bays

every one of my desktops has 8 harddrives and at least 1 or 2 ssd

I mean like a Bolt 2,  it's super compact..  if they got rid of the cd drive and used a thicker 240mm

OR 

if they made a custom 80x320 loop and put it above the gfx card.

I have built my own matx before..  but I realized I couldn't live without the harddrives..

What I have been trying to find out is who is this Next company. They are making a Nextbox steam machine. I can't find their homepage.

Not using raid for data drives..

all back up drives are taken off line..

I got mostly seagate 3TBs and a few hitachi 4TB for the (special movies)
