Who loves to cook?
« on: Fri, 08 May 2015, 08:30:22 »
Well I can't be the only one here who loves to cook (maybe more than keyboard)

Let me start sharing some of the stuff I cooked recently

Buttermilk fried chicken w/ potato salad

French toast

Roast belly of pork with spiced roast butternut and chimichurri sauce

I would totally put a fried egg on top and a dash of soy sauce!
or is that already scrambled egg on top (or tofu?)?

That is a fried egg :). The chicken and veggies were cooked in soy sauce and were hot so when I put the fried egg on top, the soy kinda cooked into the egg whites. It was delicious.

Used to cook similar thing often, it's somehow my kinda comfort food
Eating it in front of the TV, and always cook more since you'll come back for second serve

I feel like that too. Egg + rice + soy sauce = comfort.

These aren't recent but I like the pictures anyways.

We tried making soy milk.

And the best way to spend a holiday is making dumplings while Spongebob is on and the dog is next to you :).

You guys are making me really hungry. I can't cook anywhere to the level of your pictures just judging off presentation.

I do, as well - I've worked as a line cook and chef in fine dining restaurants throughout California for the past 10 years. The pork belly and squash look great, jokrik.

Wife is a big fan of good roast meat like the pork belly, but i'm turning her more to comfort slow cook braised style cooking now

just bought a non-industrial sous vide, cant wait to cook with it!

I like to cook and bake but I haven't photographed what I've been making for awhile.

Found a photo of my Tex-Mex chile cheese fries. My food hobby is re-envisioning typical unhealthy (or healthy) foods and putting a twist on them. I make a lot of pasta and love to bake bread.

I love bread.

I really love bread.

Used to love cooking until I worked in a kitchen. Now it's microwave everything because cooking feels like tedious work :(

It's often the same for me, but for a different reason. When I cook for myself, I think, "oh, I know how it *would* taste if I cooked this." And then I season it well and eat it raw. :) Or because I'm exhausted, I'll deliberately keep things in the pantry/freezer that actually do fine in the microwave (leftover risotto) or with no prep (imported tuna).

Chefs typically eat much, much better - and much, much worse - than everyone else.
